This why I think UIL should rotate the semi final every year. Reg 2 vs Reg 3 Reg 4 vs Reg 1 Then 4 vs 1 3 vs 2 It would shake it up Do you think the results would have changed if it was Forney vs SV and BVM vs Aledo?

I am. I wanted Boerne to win last year and I want SV to win this year. That’s why I put the “lol” in there. I am happy for the kids, but some “adults” I’ve dealt with, coaches included, could use a little humility. They are on a good run though and I hope they give Aledo a game. We all have to remember that this is for fun, right? You guys are both quality posters in my opinion. In this case, I tend to think the same way as Bandido does, but to each his own

That's a very interesting question (on the SV vs Forney side) I'll guess the answer is no, because we know that Aledo would crush BVM, and I would take the Rangers over Forney, but it would be less certain.

Going to be a fun week reading posts here leading up to the game. I think it is obvious that Aledo is the favorite here. SV played a great game against BVM, and for most people the outcome of that game was no surprise. SV is a really good team, and can give Aledo a run for its money. If #26 for SV can’t play, that is a big hit for SV. SV had other quality running backs, but #26 could be a game changer at times. I’ve been watching SV since 2000, and can count on one hand the games that SV has been blown out. SV will probably be out-manned in this game, and Aledo obviously has a great coaching staff, so yes they will be the underdog. SV will have to play better than they did against BVM, and I think they can, but I think they keep this a competitive game for the most part.

I thought RGV cheers for the underdog? Normally yes. But not for anyone representing San Antonio Nobody shows San Antonio any love lol

Normally yes. But not for anyone representing San Antonio Nobody shows San Antonio any love lol Why should we? Or anyone else for that matter? Y'all treat RGV folks like they're trash. And why do I know this? Let's just say being a white guy who grew up in the RGV has it's perks. I've heard enough in my 46 years of life to know this as irrefutable fact. Maybe if San Antonio people showed a bit of humility and treated others respectfully, others would show you some love? Just a thought.

I think we have plenty of humility - a lot of us have spent many years in 6A, and have been getting our collective butts waxed by the Austin schools. SV lost 1st or 2nd round games against the eventual state champion numerous times, some by quite large margins. I have no ill will toward any team, I root for my team, and tell y'all what I see (I'm sorry, but D-4 football isn't quite as good - the results over the last 20 years spell that out), and yes, I might tweak/tease the odd poster for some of their attitude, but it is all in fun. I (and many others from the San Antonio region) posted that BVM was a good, solid team, but they were in a battle against someone who was out of their weight class. I haven't seen anyone disparage the RGV folks, nor the teams, or kids. I think many have made the honest assessment that the level of competition in District 4 was below par this year, that the team that came out, whether the Coastal Bend or RGV, was going to get waxed. If it was Miller, I would have said SV was a large favorite. So, it happened to be an RGV team this time. Maybe you might have a slight bit of an inferiority complex?

But that’s everywhere and every fan base has them. Including the RGV. I remember when my team was going to play a RGV team several years back and some Valley fans seemed to be very confident about their chances. Good for them. Of course, they didn’t win. But I’ve learned to set that aside when viewing programs on a whole. Overall I love the RGV and most of their fans. I will always cheer for them, but never over the SA area teams. Dallas and Houston area fans dish it to the San Antonio and Austin area as well. Unfortunately it’s pretty widespread. I can only apologize on their behalf.

San Antonio gets waxed all the time by Austin teams, but still often root for Austin or R4 over the other regions.

AA, I could be convinced that Aledo actually had the stronger playoff opponents. Shoemaker slightly better than GT..... L Cooper easily beats MW....College Station easily beats Red Oak....A&M Consolidated slightly over Abilene.... Forney beats Brownsville. Fairly even matchups but I give the edge to Aledo. With Aledo win margin (26 pts per game) significantly larger than SV win margin with similar playoff opponents, I give this edge to Aledo for the win. Its hard to compare but I would probably give the edge to SV. But in several of their games they could have lost. If SV gives Aledo a 17 point lead like they did A&M then its a wrap. SV has to play their best game of the year and hope our QB keeps throwing bad picks. Just don't abandon the run so quickly like we did.

I don’t think SV would know how to abandon the run. Coach hill is going to try and make this a short game. Limit the number of Aledo possessions and hope the defense steps up like it has when needed

Give me Aledo in this one. Normally, I wouldn't cheer for the DFW team. But since it's Smithson Valley, I will, as a proud RGV native, gladly make an exception. Destroy them, Aledo. As a Boerne resident, I hope Aledo demolishes them, lol. Its been quite a while since my team went head to head with SV, but I’ve never heard anything bad about them. Why the negativity? They seem like a respectable program.

But I think we have good matchups in the passing game.

I'm glad SV made it through. Getting old seeing CS in the finals. I think people are much more tired of Aledo. Outside of casuals you’d be surprised. My team lost to Aledo in the State Championship and I have no ill will towards them. Great program. The Aledo players made sure to pay their respects to the Calallen players and even the fans stuck around and came over to tell our fans how great our football team was. I can’t speak for everyone but it left me with a lasting respect for Aledo. As long as they are the best I hope they keep winning.
