Give me Aledo in this one. Normally, I wouldn't cheer for the DFW team. But since it's Smithson Valley, I will, as a proud RGV native, gladly make an exception. Destroy them, Aledo. As a Boerne resident, I hope Aledo demolishes them, lol.

Why would you not want to root for an area local team this isn't college or NFL.I feel like you should always root for your area local team especially the San Antonio area teams it's become very rare for us to make it this far I would never root for a dfw team against a San Antonio tea. was hoping boerne would bring it home last year

I was really hoping Boerne would win state last year and I was disappointed when they didn’t.

Smithson Valley played a stronger road to Jerry World and they will be a formidable opponent to Aledo. SV will beat Aledo 35-28 at Jerry World. I agree that SV has played against stronger playoff teams but they beat MW by 3, CS by 5 and A&M by 7. I just find it hard to think a team that had close games with those teams is going to beat Aledo. Obviously it can happen but they are going to need help. Aledo has thrown 2 ints each of the last two games and special teams is a gamble this season. If SV lets Aledo trip themselves up and they play mistake free then things might get interesting (as the Abilene fans would say). AA, I could be convinced that Aledo actually had the stronger playoff opponents. Shoemaker slightly better than GT..... L Cooper easily beats MW....College Station easily beats Red Oak....A&M Consolidated slightly over Abilene.... Forney beats Brownsville. Fairly even matchups but I give the edge to Aledo. With Aledo win margin (26 pts per game) significantly larger than SV win margin with similar playoff opponents, I give this edge to Aledo for the win.

I am happy for the kids, but some “adults” I’ve dealt with, coaches included, could use a little humility. They are on a good run though and I hope they give Aledo a game.

Its hard to compare but I would probably give the edge to SV. But in several of their games they could have lost. If SV gives Aledo a 17 point lead like they did A&M then its a wrap. SV has to play their best game of the year and hope our QB keeps throwing bad picks.

San Antonio has caused the RGV enough misery. I'll put it to you this way. If it was A&M Consolidated or College Station, I'd cheer for them. I thought RGV cheers for the underdog? Normally yes. But not for anyone representing San Antonio

I thought RGV cheers for the underdog? Normally yes. But not for anyone representing San Antonio Well for what it’s worth I would’ve rooted for the RGV had SV lost in the state semis. I’m more curious to see what realignment does to Region 4 in this next realignment. I’ve learned to realize that the Texas HS Sports mock alignments tend to be fairly accurate. San Antonio-area schools may be headed back to Region 4; the question will be the makeup of those schools. There may be a power district in the making in District 13. And I’m not familiar with how brackets are created in 5A D1 with all 4 schools in the same bracket.

This why I think UIL should rotate the semi final every year.
Reg 2 vs Reg 3
Reg 4 vs Reg 1
Then 4 vs 1
3 vs 2
It would shake it up
