Come on now man, they are much, MUCH tougher than that both on the field and off. See any resemblance with Austin to California yet? ROFLMAO You're too smart to act like you don't realize the advantages that have been created for recruiting at UT with the now SEC brand. Texas already mostly gets top 10 recruiting classes. They're now gonna be fighting annually for that #1 spot. And you're too smart to realize that your Aggies did nothing to improve with that SEC brand other than improve the money value of the program. You're still an average program on the football field despite having that SEC brand to help you for an entire decade. Are you being serious here? Who do you think has been pointing out all the great 4 & 5 star kids UT has on their roster each and every year yet almost always underachieves with all those studs. Going to the SEC will fix that overnight in your mind I guess. lmao Hell, a few years back UT had something like 46 players that were 4 & 5 stars and damn near lost to Or St in a bowl game. That Or St team had 0 kids that were 5 stars and like 3 that were 4 stars. That has been UT's biggest issue is not getting the most out of the great talent they've had.

Texas had a Tight End playing QB under Strong and followed it up with Ehlinger a guy who should have been benched the second Casey Thompson set foot on campus and then Texas wouldn't have had the underachieving last 4 years that they did. Herman's love affair with Ehlinger rivaled Meyer's obsession with making a star out of Tebow. Ehlinger should not have been the QB the last 2 years at least.

Please show me proof after Bama, UGA, and LSU, the quality of teams save maybe Vandy and Arkansas are any better or worse than Baylor, TCU, KState, Iowa State, and Tech. On balance and not a particular year. There just isn't overwhelming proof that you take Ole Miss or aggy and put them in the Big 12 the last 10 years, they would run rough shot over anyone. NONE! And again as Chino and I have pointed out, you all get to point to the rankings and all that stuff and make believe you have a 12 weeks of hell because beating a ranked team as a ranked team allows the teams to keep their rankings. So you have a 8-3 SEC team that is allowed to be ranked higher at times vs 9-2 team from another conference. But then Texas shows up and beats UGA and excuses are made for them.... As it should be! So, Calallen is ranked in the top 10 and loses a good tight game to another top 10 team. Should they drop in the rankings for losing that game? And if you think that is an excuse for Georgia that game it is not. It was pretty damn obvious to me they didn't seem to motivated to play. So, since TX took care of them then there is no doubt they would have easily handled Alabama as well since Georgia had only lost to them by 1 in the SEC title game.....right? You don't seem to get it. ESPN/AP/ and whatever media polls starts the SEC teams up high. Hell, they would probably try to put all of them in the poll if they could, but the bias would even be more obvious. I said they can lose two and even three games and they don't drop much or if at all because the media narrative is set the SEC is murders row until they get showed up out of conference in a bowl game.... and then the excuses. I don't know if Texas could have beaten Bama or not? I mean Clemson spanked them 44-16 a week later. Uh I guess they didn't want to be there either.

My, you really are bad with numbers!2011 Garrett Gilbert was the Starting QB in 2011. He was a 5-star and gatorade national player of the year. UT pretty much wasted that talent 2011-2014 Case McCoy and David Ash were both 3 star guys. Why would a 4 or 5 star guy commit as a QB when the national player of they year had just signed with UT in 2010? 2014-2015 Tyrone Swoops was a 4-star that pretty much didn't get developed again. Pretty much a TEXAS MO if you ask me 2015- Jerrod Heard - OMG....can you believe it, another 4--star that never reached his potential 2016 - 2017 Shane Buechele - GUESS WHAT.......another 4-star QB!!! 2017-2020 - Sam Ehlinger...........OMG, ANOTHER 4-STAR

Just go do the looking yourself and see how the Big12 has done versus the SEC Then please show me another conference that comes EVEN CLOSE to producing the # of BCS champions. It really is that simple. The funny thing is I've never said that either UT or OU will not compete in the SEC....that would be a damn ignorant statement. I'm saying that they are going to find out that conference wins are going to be harder to get than in the big 12. If you or Chino cannot see that and admit you both are wearing very, very dark burnt orange lenses! Just take a look how OK has done playing SEC schools so far. That is the best of the best and they have gotten their azzez handed to em'!

Gilbert was a deer caught in headlights, nothing you can do about that. Getting thrown in the first time against Alabama as a true freshmen maybe screwed his confidence, who knows. Swoops was overrated because he was 10' tall. No idea why you threw in 3 stars. Buechele lost the job to Ehlinger (back to my love affair between Herman and Ehlinger point). Heard got moved because (once again the Herman/Ehlinger love affiar).

Texas DOES NOT KEEP the state's best QBs.

Excuse after excuse after excuse with you ANY TIME anyone post facts that bust your story to pieces. No problem. it is what makes it fun to debate you here. Remember the Alice Stadium seating capacity debate or the Judson had 4k kids back in 1988. ROFLMAO

They all leave the state.

#1 qb in the nation decommitted from Texas a few months ago to commit Ohio State. You think that would have happened if Texas had that SEC brand first? I don't. I don't necessarily think Texas needed the brand as much at this point because I do think Sark is gonna turn Texas around regardless but still that SEC brand is only gonna help.

I would not argue any of this at all. As far as the QB decommitting from UT, there have been several others over the past few years who've done that as well. I don't know what 'brand' TU needs but I do know they need a culture change there and that has been my point for a long time because anyone that says they've even come close to meeting expectations with the level of talent they have on campus the last 10 years doesn't know football at all!

To be fair A&M has had their share of QB leave. Kyler Murry ring a bell. That happens pretty much everywhere and will get worse with the Portal.
