TM is good this year but imo, GP is doing a bit better. 41-22 GP... Best of luck and health to both programs! I really think T-M has an upset in them and Boone has brought out the best in those kids. My thoughts are G-P may not be very motivated this week and think T-M will be a pushover. I have to support my alma mater, but wish the Starcher boys more carries and an injury free game. Thanks JD! Ryan actually had 11 carries vs Calallen. Steven didn't have any. I wish they could find a way to get him more involved with more carries. Should be a good ball game vs T-M. How's JR? PM or text me to let me know...

I'm with JD. GP should be favored in this game on general principle. BUT, if TM were to show up and somehow stop Bisby (if Cal'd D couldn't I don't know who will) and GP has an off night in passing, an upset in this game is far from out of the question. There is other talent in the GP stable, Erwin & Starchers to name a few, so it would be a long shot, but still possible. In the end I don't see it happening though,..... I think the boys will be more focused on this game after the two straight losses vs Calhoun & Calallen. The team realizes that their playoff lives are on the line in the next two games and these games are even more important than the last two. Hopefully Coach A will get them up & ready for T-M and they will play one of their better games of the year. Again, we still need to get more offensive output from our passing game and use some of our other kids in the offense. Would love to see Erwin, S. Starcher, & Cooks with more offensive touches. Defense played better vs Calallen, but gave up a lot of first downs on 3rd & longs and on 4th downs. Seems like they couldn't get Calallen off the field. I'm not sure what the time of possession was, but I'm sure Calallen possessed the ball twice as long as we did for the entire game. Against T-M, we need some stops on 3rd & long and 4th downs to get the ball back to our offense. I look for Bisby to have another big night & hopefully the other kids mentioned above can contribute as well.

TM will take some chances on 4th down. GP running game should handle this contest. Kick off team will have to hold their lanes or they will bust one.

I do not want to see Micky Erwin get more touches on offense. He has all he can handle on defense and the kicking game. Tanner Geiser seems to have regressed. GP does not have a QB Coach and I wonder if he is being over coached. Over Coaching tends to take away ones natural ability. Vince Young is a good example and it is a common problem. Even in the Pros, Coach Bill Parcells nearly had a problem realizing over coaching L.T. and Laurence Taylor went on to be the best defensive End in NFL. I keep seeing all the things people think GP should add and you can only have so many plays for a H.S. team to run and keep it simple. If you reach a point you have all they can handle, you have to drop a play when you add another. If you don't block properly on one play, it does no good to add another that they don't block properly on.

I remember the GP of old running the same play over and over until they were stopped. I realize that style isn't the IN thing today but you're right about blocking and tackling. Too many kids on defense want to knock the runner off their feet. You wonder how much time they spend on basics anymore?

I think GP should be favored in this one but not so much as to be out of the margin or error. By that I mean, untimely turnover, penalties will be critical to avoid.

Martin Dossett was a RB at G-P. We've had some good WRs, Darren James was really good catching passes from Mark James. Crosswhite, Brad Boenig, etc. We just never threw the ball enough. On this year's team, Cooks, Tanner, & Brandon are all good WRs. We just need to get them the ball more! Also, Erwin is good as it gets at WR. We need to use him there more! Who was the QB during the Bush years? ? He threw the rock pretty good but GP had some of the worst records during that time??? Not his fault but the offense was different. Travis Bush was the qb for 4 of those years... They had dang good teams... He's an even better coach though.

If gp ran the wing-t like Bush ran it. This offense would be unstoppable this year.
