We did lose a great kicker too. Any news or updates on a kicker or punter? He was great! No news other than the soph who kicked for the JV this year. He doesn't have the booming leg Juan had, but is very accurate in the shorter ranges. I'm sure with all the kids we have, someone will emerge as a long ball kicker for us. Soccer is kicker the farm team. Just kidding mostly Bluff Rat.

Welcome back Geek! I can see you're already in mid-season form by your predictions. I'll take a bet that G-P is not still rebuilding and when they play Calallen at home on October 19th, the winner of that game will be the district champion. I'll predict East, Calhoun, & Beeville(not T-M) will be battling for the 3rd & 4th playoff spots. Keep your predictions coming this season, I'm planning on making a killing betting opposite of what you predict... I'm with 81....sort of.....I agree that the winner of the Calallen/gp game will win district. I also say that the winner of the Calallen/PLC game will win district,as well as the winner of the Calallen/Kingsville game.

Cal Allen has the ability to win state. If their kids buckle down in the off season, i think they will do just that.

Cal Allen has the ability to win state. If their kids buckle down in the off season, i think they will do just that. They should have one tough defense. You better have a balanced attack if you plan on scoring against these guys and even then, it will be tough. I bet Campbell will be all smiles while he chills at his ranch in Beeville this summer. The really scary thing is that most are going to be only juniors. Revels, Young, and Moses are probably the best LB trio in the state at any level. If they can find some DB's comparable to Castillo and Cortez, look out!! If they can't, teams will more than likely go to the vertical passing game or get the LB's to have to drop back in pass coverage and let an athletic QB like Mims put a move on the DE's and tuck and run or pick apart the zone if you can overload it. When I played for Campbell, he loved zone coverage. He is a smart cookie and with the talented group of juniors he has, they might lead the state defense.

I thought you couldn't do that stuff if you worked in the plant?

The incoming Freshmen will have some talented kids too. I look for several to move up and start come their Sophomore year. Heck, they could get some work in this year on the varsity level too.

But they gotta come to pl as well Call it an educated guess. I don't see where anyone discredited PLC. I'm sure you will have a good team, but I think you will miss Bargas, Trevino, and McCrory quite a bit and that the well oiled machine you had last year will show a little rust.

I don't know many of those kids. Who are the ones we may see at the varsity level? I don't know many of the Flour Bluff kids either. It seems like the Bluff kids don't start making waves until they become freshmen. My son's 8th grade class lost every game...lol. They lost 50-0 to Calallen. When they were freshmen, they lost 18-12...much closer. Even the group of seniors that were the undefeated district champions their senior year lost every game in 8th grade. Maybe they are all late bloomers?
