I think you all give PLC wayyyyy too much credit. We lost wayyyyyy too much talent. We will be extremely fortunate to make the playoffs. An unproven QB with only 20 or so Varsity plays. We lost our entire starting backfield. We lost 2 D1 players and we still run that same old predictable offense. Our defense lost one of the best OLB/DE's that's ever played here. We lost a lot of speed in the defensive backfield. No tenemos una oportunidad en contra de los Gatos Feos! I say we give up now, what do you think SC04? Our poor crabs, how will Whitaker ever replace that QB, and RB, and FB, and that nasty ILB,and all world OLB?, ...wait didnt we get these same questions in 2007,2008,2009,2010?

So how many kids really were lost this year at PLC? I see this district being very interesting. If the PLC fans are right and its all about Whitaker and program and the loss of tallent doesnt matter then Both G-P and Calallen have to play over there and it is a nasty place to play. I hear that PLC has Wimberly on the schedule is this true? Should be a fun year. Not sure how G-P will do. Guess we will know come district. (or the Alice game) first four games are w's.

Here is a kicker for everyone, we have not seen am official schedule, whitaker has.not released it. So, we honestly could not tell you. Interesting huh. Im not saying calhoun didnt lose come awesome players, they did. But because of whitakers scheme, program, amd the fact that they are still loaded with size and speed relative to the area teams, they should fine. They will be young. Im hoping whitaker brings this group around like he did the group that was lead by Brandon Sanders, they werent as talented as last years class, yet they made it further. TEAM

There have been many rumors out there about our schedule, but again as SC04 says, nothing official. We've heard so many different schools thrown out there that there is no telling what our pre-district schedule will look like. Got to be something interesting brewing as this year's schedule is as hush hush as it has ever been. We do know we open district play at home against the Gato Feos! I like the idea of having another big QB, though. Bargas was quick and elusive, but Hunter brings back memories of Tyler. He will be as big as most linebackers out there and will gladly square up and run over a would be tackler. His passing accuracy is something to see, too. Just wonder if it can be incorporated into the offense. But, if you put up an average of 400 yds and 40 points a game, not much needs to be added if you ask me. Defense will again be the question mark. Can we stop a spread offense? We'll have to wait and see.

I saw Hunter last week at the little league fields w his brothers, btw his youngest.brother ,whos ,9 or 10 ,Cowen*, also plays qb ,pretty good as well. Hunter is bigger then Tyler, buildwise anyways. looks like he lives in that weight room.he ran tje JV offense pretty well, will see how he looks on the Varsity level. Another kid im excited to see develop is Soon to be Sophmore Taylor Lee. Kids an athlete.

Calhoun has some size coming up saw a picture of Bryan Tschatschula sophomore kid competing in the heavyweight power lifting meet at regionals he is huge now all we need is a few good recruits and we are back in business. Plenty of work up this way and King Ranch 350's pack up kids and come on down.................

I'm looking for FB's defense to be much better than last year especially with having Spring Football to help with getting kids in the right position. We will have 7 returners who started at some point during the season. We should have no problem filling in the SS, LB, DT, and DE openings on defense from a JV squad that were undefeated district champions last year.
On offense, we are returning 7 as well with our key losses being Villareal and Gembel. Again, we should have no problem filling in the gaps, mostly linemen, from that JV squad including Gembel's younger brother who is just as talented of a tight end.
Our toughest games will be the 3 preseason games and then Alice. Look for a bulked up Mims to stay healthy and have a great season. He is getting letters and calls from mainly Ivy League schools right now, but I think he will get a shot with a D1 team closer to home before it's over. Look for Reggie Garza to produce some nice stats at running back along with Beauregard.
Spring football will help identify some leaders and unexpected talent and will also give kids some incentive in the summer to work harder knowing their spot on the 2 deep.

Two deep at least in the backfield. Being able to get all the talent available in games is a nice problem to have. Agree with there is plenty of players to step up from the JV. Love the idea of spring ball to get them sorted out and ready to go. They already proved their work ethic and skill so just need to kick it up a notch for varsity. King, Carroll and Cal non district will give them a chance to be rolling for district play.

We did lose a great kicker too. Any news or updates on a kicker or punter?

We did lose a great kicker too. Any news or updates on a kicker or punter? He was great! No news other than the soph who kicked for the JV this year. He doesn't have the booming leg Juan had, but is very accurate in the shorter ranges. I'm sure with all the kids we have, someone will emerge as a long ball kicker for us.
