Actually, you got it backwards boss, hes a natural RB. hes an athlete who can play any position so whitaker used him where he needed him the most the past few seasons, as we already had some older, excellent RB's,FB's...hes not as weight room strong as Brandon.G. Is but his core strenth is out of the ball park. He will likely be recruited as a SS on the big school level. Our boys got alot of work to do to get back to the top of the heap again. Cant wait to see the new district. Amd Calallen in PL' get here early Uglycats Calallen in PLC this year is gunna be the game to watch right behingd the F-B Calallen game. No ones countin out the bridgecats of GP

Anyone notice if Taquan was out there yesterday?
If we have JW at FB and Taquan/Cantu at SB, man will that be a pretty fast group. Or maybe Taquan/Robinson. You throw in a big bruising QB, that may be a really good combo to work Whit's playbook.

My memory just isn't what it use to be. Remind me, how many legit D1 players did y'all have last year? It seems like y'all were touting 5 or 6. Brooks had his offer when he came so he doesn't count
I watched JW in 8th grade where he literally looked like he was a man amongst boys. He should be a great player. The rumor in the mill around PLC last year was that he was playing Defense because he kept putting the ball on the ground. I hope he has outgrown that.
I have been waiting for a couple years to watch this kid run the ball. Whitaker obviously does a good job of assessing talent so I wonder why he hasn't really run him yet. I think even without Brooks they could of had 4 1000 yard rushers with Williams. He looks like he should put up Huge numbers, I am just wondering why we haven't seen Whitaker utilize him yet.
Just my $0.02

I believe I had it down as 3 legit D1 players before Brooks came.
Nick McCrory - Navy T. Villareal - JUCO B. Griffith - JUCO
I would have thought Villareal and Griffith would have went D1. Griffith as a LB. The kid is strong, really strong and has decent speed. Villareal was also a really good OL, probably the best in the area.

JW didn't start at FB the last few years only because Brandon was here. Otherwise, he would have been the starter as a Freshman at FB. He won't be quiet as strong as Griffith, but much faster and a better all around runner. JW is big and strong, but he can also make you miss with some moves. Griffith would just run over you. No moves, just a hop every once in a while. Also, we had a big need in the defensive backfield and JW was a better fit with his speed and all around athletic ability than the others we had. JW had kick off duties, and I would venture to say that he led the KO team in tackles.
Pure Athlete!
