I enjoy the commentary on the BC games! When I’m in the stands my fandom definitely creates tunnel vision. Tell me if this is what yall see: - that qb. Give him any window and he’s gonna make the most out of it. SV and their advanced looks on D gave him trouble, other than that he’s money. OLine play is solid, the experience , 1 with 3 years and 2 with 2 years and that shows. RBs are healthy and have agility they didn’t have last year. There is talent at wr there just super young. We really miss the kid who’s playing safety at AM. The trust is growing…just need reps. - the D. Uggg. The D line is just outmatched. It all starts there. I have some issue with the coaching realizing too late that they had kids in the wrong spots and moving players to positions they hadn’t played at the start of the year and not spring ball. The amount of returning letterman on D was less than 5. You’ll see more changes this vs Mac as we try to stop the bleeding. Like I said, I’m a fan…none of this is objective, but curious what y’all see. I agree for the most part - the OLine had some problems versus SV, and may against Pieper and potentially Wagner - but overall I think they have held their own. NB seemed to alter their game plan a little in the 2nd half and seemed to control the LOS after halftime. The WR haven't helped, I noted a number of drops against SV and a few against NB as well. I think SV did a couple of things that Navarette hasn't seen before - the MLB blitz and the Tampa 2 that SV plays. The MLB had 2 sacks and a pick. The other thing about SV is their height and wingspan, which can take the middle of the field away to a certain extent. SV is also probably the best coverage team in the district, especially the CBs (not as good this year as the last 2 years, but still pretty dang good). Navarette throws a fantastic deep ball and has very good movement skills - he is a little on the small side, so I hope he grows a little and gets a little thicker. You had a couple of studs on D last year, I haven't checked how much experience you return next year, but they could be good if you do. It would be nice to get a good sized anchor since y'all are playing a 3-4. Again, the teams remaining that will give you problems will be Pieper and Wagner. You have already played SV and NB who I think have the next best Olines to Pieper. Given that you guys lost to Seguin, you will need to beat everyone left on your schedule (other than Pieper) to qualify for the playoffs. I think it comes down to BC, Wagner and Seguin for 4th place. Run up the points if you get the chance, the net between tied teams is typically used as one of the tie breakers, although sometimes they use points for among the tied teams - it does vary, and I don't know which method the D1 ADs agreed to. Good luck and continue to enjoy yourself!

As if I didn't have enough to do at work and at home to get ready to leave to Boston Thursday I had another calf born yesterday and it spooked like a whitetail deer for some stupid reason and ran through a fence into a neighbors place. I spent 4 hours last night looking all over that place and didn't get it. I finally found it about 8am this morning and brought it back across. It is always something!!! I will pay for video of Clemensbuff chasing that calf!

Oooh - another battle for 1st place at Warrior stadium Friday as NB visits Pieper - NB fans, get there early, parking is a major headache! Hoping for a good contest. I will be at the Seguin vs SV game - we will see if the Rangers can hold down the Matador Offense, and if the Matador defense can stop anyone. Vic East plays at Wagner - the loser of this game is probably out of the race for the playoffs. Finally, Mac visits BC.
I got Pieper, SV, Wagner and BC as the winners - let's hope for some good games and no injuries!

I just realized that Pieper vs NB is a battle of top teams.. but to be fair, NB has only played the bottom ranked teams. The playoff threats (Pieper, SV, Seguin and Wagner) are all ahead on the schedule. I guess that’s a good thing if NB peaks late in the regular season. I can’t favor the Unicorns over an undefeated team who beat SV. This could be a blowout if NB meanders like they did vs Champion in the first half. Boy, could that QB fling the ball with accuracy. Champion could use a win vs Mac, and they’ll get it. They’re not mathematically eliminated, but their odds look grim. They are 0-3 but haven’t haven’t played Pieper yet. Victoria East is also in a rough spot with a loss to Seguin. This could be their last stand for a reasonable shot at the playoffs. I’ll take Wagner, but in a competitive contest. There not much to say about SV. I don’t think Seguin can keep up with the Rangers, but their playoff hopes aren’t really in serious jeopardy. Not yet anyways, even with a loss.

It's odd - sometimes the roster is good - it probably depends on which parent has control of the page. I forgot to buy a program the first week, now can't justify the cost . You can kind of piece together the offensive skill positions and defensive players from watching the stream, but OLine is tough, they rarely mention their names.

Last time I bought one it was $20.

A little bit of football-ish related updates.
New Braunfels ISD school board met this week on preliminary renderings of Long Creek HS Dragon Stadium.
It looks like they are shifting gears a bit on the design of the stadium. I was looking at the details online and it looks like they intend to built a 6A capacity stadium from the get-go. Original proposals were for a 7,000 seat stadium (4,000 home, 3,000 visitors). The updated design will have 9,000+ seats (just like Unicorn Stadium),although the breakdown of seats is unclear. But the home side grandstands appear to extend from end zone to end zone. This makes sense, given the stadium’s $40 million budget. I always thought that one could do more than 7,000 seats and that appears to be the case. But no bells and whistles like seat backs for reserved seating. Which is fine, as I think the budget is better spent on seating capacity instead.
