That looks good on paper but bottom line it is time for Coach Brent Davis to put up or shut up. There has been hundreds of millions of dollars invested in support of the coaching staff. There is a lot of expierence on the Coaching staff at GP. I think there may be some Coach that would be glad to come to GP. Super Cavazos tends to hire from outside GP. 37, these projects for athletics didn’t pop out of thin air. A group of citizen, coaches, school board members and Dr Cavasos all worked together to make these facilities a reality. At the scrimmage I had a chance to talk with one of those individuals who is on the planning committee. A small group of them when planning the indoor facility went to visit with representatives of the schools with 5 of the nicest facilities in the state of Texas. They on their own time went to Melissa ISD to get the information needed to build the best facility we could build right next to Ray Akins field. One lil item I didn’t know was on the southwest corner on the top floor will be a sky box room overlooking the field. Invited guests, dignitaries and select fans of GP can watch the games and other events at the stadium. No other indoor facility that they visited had that option. Yes Brent Davis is one of the individuals who helped drive GP ISD to build these facilities. He doing a hell of a job along with other to get these facilities and Dr Cavasos is working with him to get these facilities built within the next year.

Who was that poster that called me old geezer. I have had several of the millennials referring to me as old. I get asked how are you doing like I am supposed to be able to compare how I feel to someone else my age. This is the first time I have been this old. I did not get to practice.
“Old people are easy to spot at sporting events. During the playing of the national anthem, old people remove their hats, cover their hearts, stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.
“Old people remember World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Normandy and Hitler. They remember the atomic age, the Korean War, the Cold War, the jet age and the moon landing. They remember the 50-plus peacekeeping missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam.
“If you bump into an old person on the sidewalk, he will apologize.
“If you pass an old person on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady.
“Old people trust strangers and are courtly to women and treat them with great respect.
“Old people hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.
“Old people get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and they don’t like any filth or dirty language on TV or in the movies.
“Old people have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it’s about their children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren or their animals.
“It’s the old people who know our great country is protected not by politicians, but by the men and women in the military serving their country. This country needs old people with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values. We need them more than ever. Thank God for old people. They were taught to respect their elders. It’s just getting harder for these people. God bless them and their families. Those who disrespect those values should leave my country, the sooner the better.
“Last, but not least, I was taught if you resist authority, there will always be a confrontation. So don’t resist. That’s why we have courts.
“Wake up, people. The old teachings should come back to our society. That is the only thing that will save us all. Good luck in the future, because I am one of those old persons. God bless. And always remember, all nationalities have old people with the same facts of life in their lifetime. Hopefully, the younger generations take heed from all of us old-timers. If you don’t, you will go down the forbidden path of life and it is only your decision to make in your lifetime. Also remember, the old-timers will be watching, so do a good job in life for your own good.
“Hopefully, you will have a better life for yourselves.”

I think it was over the Baseball Coach fake scandal that was brought up by a disgruntled parent. Don’t know the details. My daughter knows more about that family than I do. She may have had Chester kids in school.

It was before that. It was shortly after he closed the training facility C4 where many of the Sinton kids who were part of those magical runs trained. A lot of kids in Sinton, Taft, and Portland trained there.

Super Cavazos picked her guy and the loonies ran him off. You speaking on G-P originally wanting Evans? That's why I thought it was hilarious when they announced Davis as the new coach and called him the, "1st choice", he never was the 1st choice. Call me crazy but as impressive a resume as Davis has I still think Evans is a better Head Coach who would have won at G-P more than Davis has so far. Good luck with that Chino. Without the 680 unit apartment complex on the doorstep of Miller ISD, there would be no opportunities to offer free housing if the athletics sons and daughters would transfer to Miller from all over the Coastal Bend? What other school has that draw to fill the ranks on that team. What the hell happened to the law that says No pass No play? As soon as Evans stepped on that campus everyone became a Rhoades scholar. Try to explain why every school in Texas must follow the rules set by the state, but certain school districts dont. Is that fair to every athlete in the state?

I remember Miller losing I believe 2 starters for the LBJ playoff game because of grades. The idea that kids at Miller play with failing grades is a horseshit narrative pushed by clowns like you. When did Miller ever have a grades problem anyway? You followed Miller Athletic academics your entire life? Meathead.

I would like to see any proof that GP considered hiring Coach Evans. I would not hire him. He has wasted a lot of talent. Do you remember when abode was there and he had him as kick returner and he would field the ball and run out of bounds when he had 20 or 30 yds running room. Gave up field position.

Are GP fans disappointed with the Davis era so far? Underwhelmed with how GP has performed under Davis? 8-3 8-4 9-3 Pretty good What do you think will happen if GP goes 8-3 0r 9-3 again?

It is important that Reed Dooms gets out there and gives his best effort and we want him to have fun. We are going to still love him whether he has a good game or not.

GP may end up with the same record if we have to face Alamo Heights again.. the 2nd place team in our district will face a tough road. 1st place team may win an additional one or two games. Instead of 9-3 or 8-4 it could be 10-4 or 9-4 which is pretty good. To answer your question. I would feel good about it.
