I f my math is correct Coach Brent Davis has won 51% of his games. BRENT DAVIS 29 years; 221-114-1; 23-10-0 1995 Banquete 7-3-0 1996 Banquete 5-5-1 R 1997 Banquete 8-3-0 R 1998 Sinton 10-2-0 C 1999 Sinton 8-4-0 T 2000 Sinton 11-2-0 R 2001 Sinton 14-1-0* 2002 The Colony 5-6-0 T 2003 The Colony 1-9-0 2004 The Colony 1-9-0 2005 Alice 7-3-0 2006 Alice 6-4-0 2007 Alice 6-5-0 T 2008 Alice 12-1-0* 2009 San Angelo 2-8-0 2010 San Angelo 5-7-0 R 2011 San Angelo 9-3-0* 2012 San Angelo 6-5-0 F 2013 San Angelo 10-2-0 C? 2014 San Angelo? 11-2-0* 2015 San Angelo? 10-2-0* 2016 San Angelo 12-1-0*? 2017 San Angelo 11-1-0* 2018 San Angelo 7-4-0 T 2019 San Angelo 6-5-0 T 2020 San Angelo? 5-6-0 T 2021 Gregory-Portland? 9-4-0 C 2022 Gregory-Portland? 8-4-0 R 2023 Gregory-Portland? 9-3-0 R You may need a new calculator I think. 221 wins in 335 games = 65.97% in all the match classes I've had.

Breaking news in Portland Negative on the pitch forks only 37 thinking like that. Although two losses. GP has been in position to make plays. Turnovers and mistakes are killing us. I don’t think anyone is clocking out

Jimmythe greek I wonder how many GP fans agree with you? I posted Coach Brent Davis career stats and don’t see much outstanding. Central is a much sought after job in fact Coach Gordon Wood applied when they hired Coach Emory Bellard. Coach Gordon Wood had flown to NY City to a clinic on Coach Darrell Royals plane. He was upset when he found out he was passed over and called the Superintendent and asked why he was passed over. The superintendent said Coach Darrel Royal recommended Coach Emory Bellard. Coach Wood said that is ridiculous, me and Coach Royal are friends and I am flying on his plane. The superintendent said we did not ask about you and maybe we should have. Coach Gordon Wood was hired at Brownwood. Another top Coach on that list is Jimmy Keeling.

And if you are talking about San Angelo Central, if it is such a highly sought after position, why are they so bad? They are 0-2 to start the year losing to 2 5a schools.

And if you are talking about San Angelo Central, if it is such a highly sought after position, why are they so bad? They are 0-2 to start the year losing to 2 5a schools. I am talking back when Coach Emory Bellard took the job. Notice the increase in wins and same with Coach Jimmy Keeling who by the way left there and was the winningest Coach in Football at Hardin Simmons. Coach Brent Davis did better there than he has at GP. Paragraph: Let me get out my "Coach of the Century" book autographed by Coach Gordon Wood and John Carver the Author of this biography. He was also the author of "Winning and Hardball Fever". Page #260. Jimmy Keelingis one of the most dedicated and intense coaches I have ever known. When Coach Gordon Wood moved to Brownwood, Coach Jimmy Keeling was coaching at Class A Dublin. ( Dublin was the last place you could buy a case of the original DR. Pepper when they changed their recipe.) Coach Keeling came over to watch Brownwood practice for the playoff to learn how they practiced. H learned well and he got the HC job at Lubbock Estacado when they first started a team. Estacado ended up in the playoffs and had a week off while Brownwood was playing Wichita Falls Washington. Coach Keeling won the toss and wanted to play on Thanksgiving day. They Played at Shotwell stadium in Abilene. A cool front came in and it snowed and they cleared the field and the ice melted. Coach Jimmy Keeling found a sports salesman and bought up all the Mud Cleats in town. Brownwood slipped and slid and Estacado won 49-0, the most lopsided victory ever against Brownwood. The Matadors were no fluke and went on to beat Refugio 14-0 for the state title Paragraph Jimmie Keeling Jimmie Keeling has yet to skip a beat in his 56 years as a football coach. He was Estacado High School’s head coach from 1967 to 1969. In 1968 Keeling led the team to become the first Texas High School to win the title AAA State Championship in its first year of varsity competition.Keeling provided his unrivaled leadership at Coronado High School from 1972-1975. For his 35 years as a high school coach with a 196-91-11 career record, Keeling was inducted into the 1995 Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor. Former Lubbock ISD Athletic Director Pete Ragus recognized Keeling’s achievements when he summarized his method - “Head Coach Jimmie Keeling assembled a staff, and then provided the discipline, focus, strategy, and goals for this team to win it all.”Other high schools he coached at include Elgin High School, Andrews High School, Lamar Consolidated High School, San Angelo Central High School and John Tyler High School.Keeling began coaching at the collegiate level at Hardin Simmons University in 1990, where he would coach until his retirement in 2010. During his time at Hardin Simmons, his football team was in the National Playoffs (NAIA or NCAA Division III) eleven times. His impressive career won/loss record of 172-53 earned him the 2003 Head Football Coaching Award by the All-American Football Foundation. Furthermore, he was presented with the Grant Teaff Lifetime Achievement Award by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 2004.Keeling has also served as the Director and President of the Texas High School Coaches Association. In 2011 he was inducted into the Hardin Simmons University Hall of Fame. If you pick Coach Pete Ragus name out on that third line, you might remember he won a state title at Corpus Christi Miller in 1960. He was a former Assistant under Coach Gordon Wood at Stamford. Coach Gordon Wood won a Title in 1960 also at Brownwood. Coach Pete Ragus won Texas Coach of the year by one vote over Coach Gordon Wood. Coach Gordon Wood voted For Coach Pete Ragus. Coach Gordon Wood was a transformational coach. Too many coaches are transactional coaches that focus only on winning and meeting their personal needs.
