Yes. VW looks like they can be an explosive team on offense. Defense looked pretty good on the edges. Just looked it up. VW returned 6 on offense and 5 on defense from a 5A D1 regional finalist. But they got Alamo Heights, Boerne, SA Vets, Kerrville Tivy, Harlandale, McCollum in their district. Yup They are certainly not in a cream puff district. Seguin should also be improved this year as well and I believe the Matadors are also in that district??

Seguin will be in a district with Victoria East. West thankfully doesn’t have that district. East is in a district with Seguin, Wagner, new braunfels, Pieper, Smithson valley etc. so West definitely avoided that. But I’m glad to see that West is doing good.

You know me I call it as it is good or bad. GP didn't look good. The worst problem I saw was the lack of sharpness from the QB. Two INTs and a bunch of passes thrown to nobody or behind receivers. The O line was not picking up stunts and didn't look like the strength of the team. The D did ok for being new. Lots of work to be done if they want to beat Calallen.

Its a fair and honest critique. I hope it was beginning of the season jitters and first time seeing someone other than there own. The talent is definitely there but they didn’t execute consistently last night. I heard Coach Swanson really coaching the OLine up. That was extremely encouraging and saw them fix some of the issues in real time.

Is that the same QB that Larissa Liska was showing on TV? Maybe he was a imposter.

Actually his post about my Negative post is FAKE NEWS.

Definitely not a good outing for GP. But we're going to STATE!

Are GP fans disappointed with the Davis era so far? Underwhelmed with how GP has performed under Davis? You ask a good question. Flour Bluff set a new record on most points scored against GP in a game and broke the record set when Coach Ray Akins in his first year lost to Flour Bluff. We don’t know what the school board thought of that. A Red Flag May have gone up. Name one good team GP beat this year. I am from Realsville. Coach Brent Davis has brought in A couple of new coaches. Do you remember when Coach Charlie Stong at UT brought in a new OC and it bought him another year. I am going by memory. That was not the only Case. GP better not take Calallen lightly. Anything can happen after this year.

Underwhelmed with how GP has performed under Davis? 8-3 8-4 9-3 Pretty good That looks good on paper but bottom line it is time for Coach Brent Davis to put up or shut up. There has been hundreds of millions of dollars invested in support of the coaching staff. There is a lot of expierence on the Coaching staff at GP. I think there may be some Coach that would be glad to come to GP. Super Cavazos tends to hire from outside GP.

Continuity is important and Davis has done a good job in rebuilding this program. There is no reason to move on. Hiring and Firing people is not the answer. There are very well respected and successful coaches who want nothing to do with this job because of the crazy fans that want to fire coaches all the time. The Ray Akins era is long gone.
The Gp crazies ran off the guy that’s going to win the district title most likely, and go 4 rounds deep. Leave Davis alone.

The win-loss records would have been better had GP been able ick out wins against FB. They were a couple of close games that came down to a couple of plays. The hornets and CCvets should have been playing in 5A D1. The hornets were 18 students away from D1 last realignment. Now they are in the proper classification. Now we wait and see how much the valley has closed the gap in the next two years. Congrats to those two teams. I wish them good luck. It takes time to build a program. You can do all the rights things to stay competitive but if you do not have the talent to reload- it’s hard. A lot of changes in Portland. The town is changing every six months. It’s brewing. Stand by to witness what’s a coming - it’s cooking…
