Anna shutout Tyler Chapel Hill. Gilmer would be lucky to score twice. Aledo is on another level. PNG would not have a chance. DeSoto would beat Duncanville by more than 14 in a rematch. Aledo had some close calls in the regular season. They are not on another level. They almost lost to both Denton programs and both those Denton programs had down seasons by their strandards. Who cares how someone played them in the regular season. They whooped the chit out of all comers in the playoffs. They did what great teams do which is take their game to a much higher level when the games count for the big prize

DeSoto beat Duncanville by 14 earlier in the year, so a 1 point game is not out of the question. I would say 14 is max. Calpreps has the Aledo game about right I think. Gilmer did have some studs, so that could be an interesting game. Those are interesting outcomes though FB Fan thanks for taking the time to run those. Anna shutout Tyler Chapel Hill. Gilmer would be lucky to score twice. Aledo is on another level. PNG would not have a chance. DeSoto would beat Duncanville by more than 14 in a rematch. I'm not sure they would beat them by more than 14 in a rematch. Duncanville can flat-out play as well. They are one of a handful of teams that can stay within 2 TDs of DeSoto. DeSoto is definitely the best in the state. Heck I'd put them up against anyone in the country at this point.

Does the state championship weekend in Jerry world even make a profit?
The cost to operate the death star has to be expensive. Power, water, employees, security. Is big Jerry covering the operating costs, do teams have to pay a rental fee or anything?
Does the UIL get the gate money, parking or concessions or anything in return.

So teams pay a lofty premium to use the facilities. The gate split goes to JJ 80/20 or near that. All concessions and parking in the main area as well. UIL gets some proceeds from Bally and the commercial deals. As for the premium each team pays to give you a reference because I haven't paid the Jerryworld fee but have other facilities. Here are the more notable ones. Alamodome = 8.5k per team NRG = 10k per team Rockpile= 5k per team Texas State= 8k per team DKR= 9k per team Kyle field= 9k per team So I would imagine Jerryworld would be 10k per team or higher...

But does a team have to pay the jerry fee in the state championship game? They don't have a choice in that location decision. Charging them would be petty.

The teams that go to ‘Ship aren’t being charged individually. If they were that would be insult to injury for those who have to travel longer distances. Whatever deal Jerry and the UIL have in place, he ain’t losing a penny.

The Houston Chronicle reported that NRG charged UIL three times what AT&T did.

I mean it is the UIL so petty and UIL are pretty much synonymous... It would not be a surprise to me. I will call some of my buddies that have went recently. I am really good friends with the 6 man head coaches at Richland Springs, Jonesboro, and Abbott. I know they actually dislike having to go there for 6 man games. Just because it's not a great setting for 6 man. Which I completely understand with all the extended lines and all. The refs even get confused out there.

Like I literally get second hand embarrassment for you. And you are a straight up hater and jealous like a child of anyone or anything having success. And yes, Aledo was ON ANOTHER LEVEL than anyone else in 5a this year whether you want to admit it or not. Outscoring their 5 opponents 284-108 is a 47-18 average and NOT a single team came within 2 scores of them. Wake up and stop being such a jealous person for a change.

My almost 50 year old a$$ lives life being jealous of 15 year olds. They are LOADED with elite transfers. We can agree to disagree on HOW they get those transfers but there is NO debating that they DO have elite transfers all over that program. I will NEVER give credit to a program that wins that way. NEVER and if you think that I think that way because of "jealousy" then you're ignorant. I grew up in an era where players played where the F they were supposed to play not take the easy way out like modern players on these elite teams.

"Can't We All just Get Along". Wow them's fighting words. Chino I'm a littlr older than you and when I grew up only the district champ made the playoffs. Now you have 4 teams from each district slugging it out. I don't care what Aledo or PNG or anyone else does. I was able to watch "The Game" on black and white TV when I was in Victoria. On November 29 1963, San Antonio Brackenridge faced of against San Antonio Robert E. Lee. A week earlier President John F. Kenedy had bee asasinated. Coaches and players fans wondered if they should have the playoffs. In San Antonio the Brackenridge Eagles defending state champs drew the Lee Volunteers in the first round. It was too good to pass up and the Fans in San Antonio gave themselves permission for one night.22 thousand lined up night after night in the cold to get tickets. Those who failed to get a ticket watche on WOAI TV for the first telivised BI-District game televised in the state. It was Linus Baer vs Warren McVea. Both tams came up with tricks and Brackenridge switched McVea from RB to QB to increase his touches. Lee plan was not to punt and only onside kicksoffs. It also brought about cultural change as Brackendidge had mostly African Americans and a few Hispanics and Lee was all white. Desegregation was not yet comlete all over the state. Le scored first and got the onside kick and was up 14-) before Brackennridge got wise and got the next onside kicks. Warren McVea went to work and on the first play ran 54 Yds for a TD. McVea could do things nobody had ever seen. He was recruited by the Houston Cougers and drafted by the Bengals and traded to the Chiefs and has a Super Bowl Ring when the defeated the Vickings in Super BowlIV. Linus Baer went on to play Football at UT Longhorns. Lee won 55 to 48.Linus Baer rushed for 150 yds and caught two passes for 95 yds and rusging or receiving for 4 touchdowns. Both schoos had played against each other and Linus Baer and Warren McVea were friends for life. They said they were having fun the whole game. I was exhausted just watching it on TV. .0 vault.si.com/vault/1964/11/09/warren-mcvea-goes-thisaway-and-thataway
