Aye, I was also at that game. We may have underestimated Brandeis, as we boat raced them earlier in the year. Mattison was a beast. Smith was an underrated runner as well, slippery and fast. I thought that team was going all the way, we all left the stadium shocked! I went to that game specifically to see Brandeis get beat because I could not stand them. SV let me down bigtime that day lol. SV was loaded with dudes that year. Brandies had a really stout defense as well. lmao raidercat! Well, we took care of em a couple weeks later. We jumped all over em in the Alamo Dome early and they didn't know what hit em. We then pretty much went vanilla after half and coasted to the win. That was the game their fans got all butt hurt over a breakthough our cheerleaders had made. I thought it was pretty clever and comical but they took offense to it. I wish I could remember what it said but it hurt their little feelings some. lmao

Damn I'm glad they are having it. The video work is fantastic and even the two broadcast guys to a really good job. Yes, they certainly have a tad bit of homerism in them but they are pretty dang good at calling the game and giving credit even when the opposition makes a good play.

The color guy is Coach Hill's son - he better be a homer!

The color guy is Coach Hill's son - he better be a homer! True, but as Clemensbuff said, they both call them as they see them (as it’s happening), giving credit to the other team! A lot of over-the-top guys pretty much are ALWAYS saying well we let them get away with that one!! I really enjoyed watching and hearing them give the first half call for the Region III Final when I was in Vegas!! I’m looking forward to watching and hearing them make the call as the SV Rangers spank the Region IV victim!

That’s why I always root for Steele lmao. Man that was a physical game and Steel had some straight up dudes that year.

The color guy is Coach Hill's son - he better be a homer! Yes I kind of figured that when in one game this year Hill went sprinting down the sideline I believe to get a timeout called. His response was something like "I haven't seen dad move that quick in a long time"! lmao Honestly though, you can tell they are both SV guys in the broadcast but they honestly call a good game. Is this his son that was the former QB an their offensive coordinator later on or another boy of his?

I went back and re-watched a game from a few years back with Weslaco East & Steele and it was done by their broadcast team. It was freaking comical almost if it wasn't so damn ridiculous. If you had just been listening instead of watching you would have thought it was 36-6 WE at halftime, not in favor of Steele. LMAO

Wow So if I read this correctly if BVM can beat SV they'd be the first RGV team since the 1963 PSJA bears to get to a state title game.

Seems like a lot of people are on the same page. But what can BVM do to win the game?

Seems like a lot of people are on the same page. But what can BVM do to win the game? Pray that SV overlooks them and has a really, really bad game and turns the ball over multiple times. I'm not trying to be ugly in any way but I really cannot see a single spot where BVM holds an advantage on the field. How BVM beat a faster Miller team that probably had them outmanned at many spots will not work against SV. They will not outplay SV in special teams, will not rattle them either offensively or defensively when they do make a good play, and they will not win the coaching side of it. Can BVM win, of course they can. But I'd would give it less chance than what Calpreps currently shows which is 92% chance SV wins. I also do not see BVM holding SV to 35 points like Calpreps is showing currently. neutral field [2023] Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX) 35 (92%), [2023] Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX) 13 (8%)
