2 schools moving on to the State Semi-Finals, Davenport, and Smithson Valley. I don’t know much about Chapel Hill so it will be fun to see how Davenport does against them. And I like Smithson Valley to go to the State Title game like I had said in a previous post. Great year for Comal ISD football.

SV will play for the title I see no way BVM can beat them after watching both games last night. BVM is a good team but SV is on another level. My hopes are high Davenport although no doubt CH will be favored by 7-10 points.

Boerne didn’t exactly light them up in the passing game last year. But CH isn’t facing the 2022 Boerne defense this year and those super sophomores are now seasoned Juniors. The Bulldogs should be favored by 10-14, but I’m pulling for Davenport. BVM has surprised but they are overmatched. SV will shut their offense down. They may complete a few big passes but it won’t be enough.

I hope like hell Davenport can beat them but it is going to take some breaks to get it done....like a plus 2 or 3 in turnovers and or a couple giant big special teams plays.

All these minerals must not reach nearby Seguin. It sure helps to be in one of the hottest growth area in the state and nation over the last few years. Daveport’s girls just won the State Volleyball title too. CISD has a lot going for it. First and foremost, they got the $$$$ Then they have hired very solid coaches at both Davenport adn Pieper. Add to it that these schools get the support from fans and more important, the parents when the coaches push these kids to do their best. Just a hell of a lot working for these schools IMO. Pieper and Davenport have really good shots at their first regional titles this year which is outstanding for such young programs. Those dollar bill signs sure do help!

It's in the water there lol... they grow em different in the Comal area lol... New Braunfels, SV, NBC, Davenport, Pieper all them kids are just built different Canyon Lake is usually a pretty good squad too, but expand out a little and you’ve got Boerne, Champion, Wimberley, Blanco…..it’s those Guadalupe/Blanco River minerals….now you know lol Then what is Seguin and Gonzales' problem. Same river system?

I am curious, have any COMAL ISD enrollment numbers been confirmed? I don't with some of the mocks how Davenport remains in 4A based on the growth in that area. I understand how Canyon Lake does because it's still alot of sticks in their attendance zone and the houses are built on multi acre lots and not postage stamp sized like they are in other areas of the ISD. The developers are rabid in the Canyon Lake area. Costs us $13,000 for 1/3 acre with water. Lots of other folks were left crying at that auction about 4 years ago at the Comal County Courthouse.

Besides, all the good minerals are used up by the time that water makes it to Seguin and Gonzalez.

There’s a rumor that Boerne already had a non-district home and home planner with Peiper next two years, so depending on how realignment ends up both BISD schools could play them. Based on how everything is shaking out I think Davenport goes 5A since the number of big 5A/6A schools is increasing, putting them in with Uvalde, Somerset, Boerne, Tivy, Álamo Heights and Judson Vets. Possibly South San and Southside as well. Peiper replaces NB Canyon in the SV/BC District.
