Who you rooting for to lead Alice? Taft coach he has been a finalist twice for the Alice position when Evans and then Atwood. Might of been seen as not ready at the time but he has seen how very good programs function and starting to display it at Taft. To the 2 coaches that weren’t finalist for the Alice job & Castellanos has done a helluva job with that Taft Football program

Y’all can scratch Bradley Chavez off the list. He was named Miller’s assistant head coach and OC at Corpus Christi Miller by Evans on social media a few minutes ago. Wasn’t on my list anyway

Being told Alice ISD was going through and screening applicants today I imagine calls for interviews will go out this week I want Alice to hire a great football coach/athletic director. It will be good for South Texas. Every Alice faithful want them to hire a great AD/HC but with the board & politics and their fishy habits … who knows I hope they don’t screw this one up

I would agree on the applicants wanting privacy and I'm 100% ok with that. The problem we have and why we're complaining about the board not letting us know names is that they are still leaking the names to their buddies so why not the rest of us. If the board would just keep their mouths shut in the first place then I think we'd all be OK with not knowing either. Look at how Rockport-Fulton handled it. Took less than a month and nobody really knew who got the job until they revealed it at that event they held yesterday afternoon. That was a legit event they had to reveal the new AD. Alice should've hired that search firm Rockport used. Then again it might not work with the Compadre system /Good Ol'boy politics in Alice. Yeah it's embarrassing for sure that Alice had 40 applicants and Rockport-Fulton had over 100. Neither their pay or tradition is what Alice was and they still attracted way more applicants. I think Seibert was at $95k after 9 seasons and Atwood was at $107 after 6.

It’s already been a month since Atwood resigned from his post as Alice AD/HC & we still haven’t named a AD/HC the process as the Alice faithful put on hold. Is the board hiding something from us or is there something that they don’t want us to know …. Typical politics. Yes, I want Alice (us) to hire a great AD/HC that’ll lead our boys & student athletes & stuff, I’m appalled on why they have let this process gone on for so long …. I hope they’ll interview the applicants that’ll be the right MAN to lead that Coyote Squad like I said I hope they don’t screw this up.

Which isn't exactly a metropolis.

i think word travels on how things r at alice .. plus if u have kids the academics could alsohe a factor Alice gets a horrible rap on this site. It's not the doom and gloom that's being portrayed. Many people in all walks of life graduate from Alice High School, move out and come back home as professionals. Teachers, attorneys, dentists, doctors, realitors, to name a few All move back home and send their kids here. Even those who don't live in Alice, go out of their way to represent Alice, TX. My wife and I would love to move back home and raise our daughter in Alice. We are both PROUD AHS graduates. I personally know teachers at various schools in Alice that love their jobs, love the kids, and love Alice. Maybe because I've lived in different places, I can offer my different perspective. But Alice is no different any other town. What is hurting Alice more than anything or those that b@*tch about it, but contribute nothing help. Go volunteer at a school, donate to the boys and girls club, help coach a little league team, run for freaking school board. Alice is not a Utopia, there are problems and faults and unsavory characters. There are also good, salt of the earth folks that will are kind, generous, and supportive of the young people in the town. Captains of industry, academic scholars, leaders, veterans, all call Alice home. But of course, you wouldnt know that by reading the posts of 4 or 5 posters on this site. So don't mean to offend but I feel like I have to offer my perspective and stick up for my town.

Just want to throw this little tidbit I ran across out there because I know we talked track in this thread.
Flour Bluff ran a 41.69 4x100 this past weekend, and had 2 dudes under 11 seconds in the 100 with a 3rd at 11.2. They went 1,2,3 in the 100 and dominated the 4x100 by 2 seconds.
That is HELLA impressive!! Props from this rival.

I even said as much in my one whole paragraph. Sorry, but no politician here. I hate politics. Just a guy trying to be positive. The audacity, right?
