Seems like Brewer had always been a door mat but had a sudden up turn. His doing? No he struggled there, and went elsewhere after a few years. He did make them somewhat competitive, but nothing worth writing home about... Somewhat competitive would have been a big improvement from what I remember but that was many moons ago. |

I would almost bet that you could take most if not all the "bad" region 2 and most "bad" region 3 teams, plug them in to a region 1 or region 4 district and they'd instantly be successful. It's hard to win when you play Aledo, Guyer, Ryan, Katy, DeSoto type teams every week of every year. A good year for teams in that situation is a 3 or 4 win season and not losing by 40 or more in all the other games... It's like when Davis went to the Colony and they were getting it handed to them. He may not have won a lot there, but they competed better and had what could be considered success in the fact that they were not a laughing stock anymore, just a product of UIL alignment... |

Just because I work with the district and in the administrative capacity, does not mean I associate on a friendly or social level with them. I do socialize with many who work at central, but we are a “group” that pretty much frowns upon the circus that is AISD and the stuff we have to deal with daily. I DO NOT ASSOCIATE with the superintendent or those board members unless I have to in the work environment. Do I know them, yes. Do I see them daily, also yes. That does not mean we are friends. Do I hear “things” and “info” yes, but there’s also a lot of rumors circulating. Whatever I have shared on here is because I can back it up. Sergio, I lost a friend of 18 years over speaking up against what he and his family and other families did to get his son out of trouble or over the whole freshman team fiasco, what makes you think I haven’t voiced my own opinion over the shenanigans going on with board members and other issues at the administrative level? The only names i have shared are those that I am aware of. Did I see a handwritten list of applicants, yes but I was also told yesterday that quite a few rescinded their application and interest. You can think what you want, but that is certainly not the case. What I have shared on here is only what I know for a fact. And no, the applicant whoever he was, was not in attendance yesterday. All I know about that is that a last minute situation came up and he had to tend to it out of town. I asked repeatedly for a name and all I got was “you’ll find out soon enough”. I followed this forum for a little while, didn’t comment much till now or more recently and brotha I’m not arguing but I feel like whenever anyone has a difference of a opinion and comes at you with correct info or valid info, you attack. Just my two cents. Nothing against you man, but respectfully, you don’t live here, and you don’t know what goes on here. You hear it from people or reach out to people to ask about certain things. They are not in the know. So unless it comes from reliable sources in and from Alice, don’t give it a second thought. Thought I was doing good sharing things but I’ll refrain from doing so unless I feel it’s necessary. I spoke up when I did to clarify a lot of misconceptions to only get attacked. It’s all good though. |

packattack i guessing the applicant is somebody that is in the running and maybe the front runner .. traveling to laredo to watch a game that really didnt have any tournament winnings implications.. just a game to meet the quota of games for the tounry. seems to me like he was gonna go to see the talent or hes a laredo coach that applied that was gonna just go to mingle with the higher ups that were gonna be there. and thanks for sharing ur information.. some is better then none.. and we shall fond out sooner then later who the guys is gonna be.

Unrelated side note… I went to the Corpus Christi Metro Relays on Friday. There were probably 8+ Laredo and RGV schools competing with the CC schools. The non-Corpus Christi schools dominated the meet. In just about every event, it was a Laredo or RGV school with the W. I found that very interesting. I’ve been to this meet for awhile, and almost always the CC schools fared pretty well. Not this time. I’m wondering if a power shift might be coming. |
