I know lots of coaches read this stuff in here and social media and anywhere else and immediately roll their eyes and think wtf do these nobodies know?. I get it. But not everything requires years of coaching experience and there is no "coaching degree" to be what they are. You learn on the job and through experience and some stuff is just common sense not analytics and experience. Everyone knew what the weather situation was gonna be for the Alice/Calhoun game at kickoff time. Anyone with a brain knew Alice was not gonna be able to pass as usual. So for those of you that don't know, Alice has a backup QB #10 that is really good at running with the ball. He's only a sophomore but was already getting reps last season as a freshman on Varsity. When the game started and Alice's coach saw that they weren't gonna be able to pass into a f-ing hurricane and at the same time that our running game was working really well, then a decision could have been made to go with the backup QB #10. Calhoun knew QB #6 was not gonna run and he had wide open area to run almost all game. As a coach you sit down QB #6 and explain that we are going with QB #10 because we are not gonna be able to pass this game and we will go back to you next week when the weather isn't like this. That seems like common sense in doing what is best for the team and doesn't require years of coaching experience to see this. It also seems like common sense that when you score a TD to close the score to within 9 points and there is ONLY 4 F-ing minutes left in the game then YOU F-ING ONSIDE KICK THE BALL. Alice didn't. That is what you call CHOKING. Choking isn't something that only players do, it happens to coaches also. All this talent the last 2 years and they are 11-10 with no playoffs last year and a 1st round exit to a 3-7 team this season. Holy chit man enough is enough. Uh 4-7

Alice will be just fine as far as talent goes. Those 20-22 freshman that got thrown into the fire during Covid when number were down will now be seniors next season. Lots of experience coming back next season. Alice has a very very good duel threat qb just walking the halls (Camarillo) if they can get him back he and gonzalez will be hard to deal with. But as usual as long as we have these coaches it will probably be another year of wasted talent. Hope Iam wrong but Atwood has yet to show he can utilize his talent year after year.

Who do these 'expert coaches' think hires them? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that. Unfortunately Alice has a terrible superintendent and a dysfunctional school board, so we're probably stuck with this guy. He's applied for numerous jobs, yet nobody hired him. Muleshoe didn't even want him and he had ties there. What does that tell you?

Dude……give your team a chance! I'm no special teams expert, but the wind was blowing the ball off the tee all night, so they had to have someone hold the ball on the tee. IDK, but I would think it would be difficult to execute an onside kick in that situation 🤷

In this episode I rant on Alice/Calhoun 👀 and go over where I was right and wrong on all of last week's playoff matchup predictions🏈... u really hit the head on the nail with this. u expressed what basically every coyote fan is feeling. and without care of whos feelings u hurt or what crap ur gonna get back in return. i also think when u want ur players to give a 110 percent and be invested u cant always trip up as coaches in big game moments. play calling, game management, adjustments. eventually kids r gonna give up on u. i think all season us fans have been waiting for that one game where it all falls apart. because history has shown thats what happens to us. and we has fans get that i told u so moment. not the kids fault at all u r as good as ur coaching. if they dont put u in a position to succeed its hard to win . if this isnt an eye opener nothing will.

The good folks in that town need to stand up together and demand better starting at the top of the system! If the present school board is not getting it done, vote their azzez out! The kids deserve a whole hell of a lot better!! And him putting in those applications like he did says he doesn't even want to be there. Make him happy and send him on his merry way!

In this episode I rant on Alice/Calhoun 👀 and go over where I was right and wrong on all of last week's playoff matchup predictions🏈... Damn dude, well it is what it is I guess. It is a shame though, that’s a program with a ton of history, it’s up to the adults to right that ship and seems like Alice doesn’t have the right adults in charge to make the best decisions at this point.

i miss the FB/Alice rivalry. i really don't know much abt Alice ISD other than the football program but i have a question. Seems there is a feeling not much is being done for football but what abt the academic side? is money being invested in computer labs, classroom technology, hiring good teachers....you know the stuff that makes students succeed.

Good video, but can you tell us how you really feel?? LOL.
Don't always wish for different when you don't know what different is. Atwood can be 10 times better than a new hire... there's no guarantee. IF and that's a BIG IF, someone else is sniffing around... and that dude is a for sure upgrade... then yes, maybe pull the trigger. With the dumpster fire that the Alice school officials/board/super/whatever is perceived to be by the coaching world... what are y'all really going to attract?
In Atwood you have a known quantity. He brings energy and excitement, and the kids seem to love him. 2022 was a heck of a season! What really did y'all in? Not coaching in my humble opinion. It was weather. Could coaching decisions have helped? Surely yes, especially moving the game to Thursday (blowout Alice win in my opinion if it's a Thursday game). But you gotta dance with the girl you brought. Can't change EVERYTHING on the fly on gameday... but yes, Alice could have tried to run more.
That said. What pisses me off the most about this loss... Y'all jacked up my bracket!!! I had Alice in Round 5.
