Back to Alice 2023.... Any word on what the district is going to do with the coach? He needs to be let go already. They have to realize that he lost the kids already.

Nothing about our school board leads anyone to believe they are competent enough to do the right thing. I don't mean to take a shot at every single member. It's not all of them but enough. He's not going anywhere until he wins enough to make his resume look good enough for all these other jobs he always applies for. 2022 could have been the season to bump his resume up and instead it will no doubt have the exact opposite effect. To go 11-10 the last 2 seasons with the talent Alice has had with no playoffs and a 1st round loss to a 3-7 team isn't a good look. I'm going to hope and wish that he applies at Ingleside and Victoria East and gets one of them.

Not that I want him there, but at least he wouldn't be ruining talent like he is in Alice lol.... And heck if he can keep Calallen within 7 he'll have a coaching job for life there lol...

Kids and some delusional fans think that just showing up and putting pads on is going to win games. But in reality, look at the successful programs... kids live, eat, and sleep workouts year around in the weightroom. Kids work hard throughout the off season on their time because they're usually playing another sport. They are coachable. They are disciplined. They fight like Mike Tyson when the going gets tough, and the success follows. The coaches expect it, the community expects it, and the kids earn it.

I would not be to thrilled about living in Alice, Texas however my wife graduated there in 1961. There are people that work in Alice that live on the lake. I would think Flour Bluff and Rockport would draw top Coaches to apply that love to fish. The house's are expensive but you can get a house on a channel and park your boat at the back door. Alice may have a lousy school board and it is tough to vote someone off the school board. It is like getting rid of a sheriff who has 50 deputy's. The Alice ISD is the biggest employer in town.

What’s your take as a coach on how the staff over there handled this whole QB situation? Personally I think it’s a fireable offense to knowingly play a kid with a severe injury. Waivers signed or not.

Waivers signed or not. Absolutely it's a fireable offense. At one of the private schools I was at, we had a kid who's parents were Jack wagons. He got a concussion and they wanted us to keep playing him. We clearly saw signs of concussion so we sat him for 3 weeks because he couldn't clear protocols. Then they tried to get us fired for not playing him. Luckily our principal backed us up. Then a couple years later he tore his ACL and again it was obvious. Our team doctor even confirmed it. The parents again downgraded it to he had a bruise and was fine. Wanted us to play him. We didn't and the parents through a fit again. Admin backed us up, and low and behold 3 months later he went under the knife for a torn ACL. Yes for 3 months they argued he was fine, despite the kid not being able to walk or run properly.

This is the first time in my lifetime that I can say I'm not looking forward to a Coyote football season nor do I have expectations. The mess of the 2022 season took it all out of me. I wish this dude would have already gotten one of the many jobs he applies for so him and his brother could be gone. Chino just more of your diarrhea of the mouth. You don’t know squat about what went on at GP. Coach Anastacio was asked to come to Odessa by HC Danny Servance whom he coached with at Permian. Coach Anastacio left Permian with Coach Darren Allman to Westlake. They came close to state titles something Alice has never done. Coach Anastacio coached in the Army Allstar game that is about to have a game I think next week. Coach Anastacio played 4 years at Hardin Simmons and was 8th in most tackles in history. He played in Playoff games at Hardin Simmons. He has a degree in Math and computer science. He was asked to come to Llano to coach. Please tell us what year he was one of the coaches at the Army All-American Bowl?

Waivers signed or not. It wasn't even just the injury that we complained about. The QB just was not what he was hyped up to be. Sorry but that's just the facts. Strong arm, pretty spiral... but very inaccurate and I'm convinced he decides who he's going to throw the ball to before the snap because that's the only way to explain not seeing wide open receivers. Heck I lost count of how many times WR #7 threw his hands up in frustration when he either wasn't targeted on wide open plays or he was being overthrown constantly. They all were constantly being overthrown. I'll say it flat-out... he was not even as good as the Alice backup that quit over the situation. Big difference in playing against OG opponent DBs and playing against Vets DBs.

I get that throwing for 10K for Cutter’s career vs Hidalgo was an amazing accomplishment for his career, I know that’s not the point of this story. The question is who the hell was RESPONSIBLE for letting Cutter suit up before his knee wasn’t even close to ready?? We saw that twice (especially the game that happened at Vets in Buc) if something serious had happened his career would’ve been over & that 10K wouldn’t happened. This whole quarterback situation was a diabolical warpath, 2 of them quit (1 left the team before the season started & 1 quit after the Vets game, I don’t know why the coach let Cutter go back in which he had no business going in when the game was out of reach). Like I said if that injury happened somewhere during the season it would’ve been for good & his recruiting would’ve been flushed down the toilet. Someone needed or take some damn ACCOUNTABILITY for this. It either has to be the parents or why I’m I even saying this or the man’s name that as LOST all credibility for the damage he’s done in his time in Alice if a situation would’ve happened to Cutter or maybe a lawsuit & it kinda feels like the Lance Harbor deal if you’d ask me. “TAKE OWNERSHIP” I said it before I believe this was more about the dad wanting the high school stat records and Atwood not being man enough to say too bad it isn't happening I'm not putting a QB to play on a torn ACL when there's dude's behind him better than a QB with a torn ACL. Atwood never had the balls to put his foot & said, I’m sorry I can’t allow you to play on a bad knee this season not on my watch. If I was the HC of Alice, I’m with you on this I wouldn’t allow that situation to happen whether if they liked it or not & we had kids that are skilled to ball out a lot better than that man on one knee

I wish I could say the exact same but my conscience, heart & devotion remains with the our kids who have the mindset of winning which aren’t the problem. This season which all of the Alice Coyote faithful saw this team with high expectations of going deep was left with a handful of unsolved grievances & especially losing to a (3-7) team in the 1st round that unexpectedly shocked the Coastal Bend due to no adjustments, no discipline, not opening up the damn playbook & coaching conservative with the game on the line. I’ve seen & heard enough of that man

Our district is beyond a sorry ass joke & they can’t get it through their metal heads that it’s time to put the damn plug. One big season in a district which was “Fools Gold” doesn’t help your resume you need numerous winning seasons & success in the playoffs to back that up …. Our district is a lousy fluke

I wish that them metal heads would pull the plug on that man a long time ago but there keeping him on a LEASH. The right one was the one they UNLEASHED & ran him off like “Old Yeller”. That Coach that lasted one year was track shoes & left for more money. Back to that man that turned this program into a warpath, kids leaving for baseball, not handling the QB situation properly which 2 quit over the situation, not adjusting, no discipline, & conservative coaching with the game on the line …. He’s LOST all credibility for the diabolical rubble he’s cause …. Enough is Enough!
