Boyers was BC last season, they are not the same team without him... Pioneer isn’t the same team without WR Luke Padilla and that DB Mallard but they do have Marburger... I’d say Pioneer is in better shape than BC is... BC has a much better overall team, top to bottom. I would take our team w/o Boyers over their team, w/o question. Our DL will be a year older, the Pioneer OL won't be able to handle them. They will have to double team two of them for sure. Of course, Tivy, Brenham and some other teams will have something to say before that happens. We actually have some decent teams in district to play, Pioneer has a cake walk. You need to take your blinders off. lmaoYou are correct that your D-line gave them provided great pressure......but, they still put up OVER 650 yards of offense and that QB is back. That is much better from top to bottom? I think not. My guess is that if both these teams meet up again, it will be another great, close ball game.

I could be wrong, but I read HOWDY’s post about the BC team differently. I do not believe he was talking about 2019 BC being better than 2019 Pioneer top to bottom. I believe he may have been comparing 2020 BC team to 2019 BC and saying this years BC team is better top to bottom even with the loss of Boyers

BC fans are excited, Pioneer fas are excited, LH fans are excited, then you have Brenham and Tivy laying low. I think we all can agree that the R4 playoff race is going to be fun to follow! Would be nice for a dark horse to emerge.

Lol i mean even with the dropped passes they still took a very good boerne team to ot and were stopped by a questionable spot on ot and before that i will admit the coach choked by throwing and not kicking and well on the rb lets not say hes a big time player but hes productive and I believe will only be a sophOmore. He’s productive and got ok size. He will be a true rb which is something they had lacked so he will definitely help if its actually him transferring. www.hudl.com/v/2DVc9H. If this kid was a freshman in this highlight reel, he is impressive. He is not very big even for a freshman, at least height wise but he has very good vision in traffic, a nice wiggle, good burst/quickness, and runs hard. Not great speed in the open field but certainly plenty enough to get it done and if he was a freshman I would look for that along with everything else he already has to improve a lot in the next 2-3 years. And I would agree with you that this is exactly what Pioneer lacked last year offensively in their backfield. And I also agree that he is a true RB. i feel like valley teams need to have a really good passing offense topped off with a true rb to make damage in the later rounds just in case the defense gets stingy vs the pass. . When mission vets made it they had a really big bruising back. He was 5’10 200+. The pioneer rb last year was really good imo but he was more of a pass catcher, and in plays like in ot where you needed that small push from a big back well they didnt have one i think they even had to put in a db as rb. The rumor transfer isnt that big but he does run with power and has some body control to fall forward

I’m not salty at all. Best of luck. I’m not a Pioneer fan... I’m a fan of their rival school, the Sharyland Rattlers... Serious question...being from RGV area is La Feria HS any good in the 4A division?

Idk they can be good for valley standards in the lower levels but definitely not a top team

La Feria was OKAY, for an RGV team... Last season they had a really good QB, I think he got hurt though in the playoffs... Compared to Vela, Harlingen or Pioneer though? La Feria wouldn’t be able to keep it within 35pts IMO...

Don’t forget about Mission Veterans who isn’t far removed from the 4th round of the post season, MY Sharyland Rattlers are always in the conversation to have a decent run as well... As for BC being better “top to bottom”... I kinda doubt that, it certainly wasn’t that way last season, had it not been for a boneheaded call to throw the ball instead of kick the FG, BC is sitting at home and Pioneer is playing... I actually thought Pioneer was much better than BC last season and without Boyers, the game wouldn’t have been close... This season Pioneer is faster at WR, should be interesting.

Part of the reason RGV doesn’t get respect is this....we were much better but we lost... You don’t have an idea what move ins BC has for this season. Their TE, who didn’t play a snap after PLC game due to ACL, is a DCTF preseason 1st team selection. No one from BC has said Pioneer isn’t a threat...but many here have said BC isn’t a threat because a QB graduated. It should be fun

If that is indeed what was meant than it could be so but I have a hard time seeing the offensive production of that Senior BC QB being met. Kid was a baller. I could see BC's defense though being better with the return of several very good players there.

No one from BC has said Pioneer isn’t a threat...but many here have said BC isn’t a threat because a QB graduated. It should be fun The funny thing about the lack of respect for the RGV is that it is basically true as a whole for all of R4 from other regions of the state. Respect is earned and not given and until R4 wins another title in 5a for R4 that statewide respect thing is going to be almost non-existent. Yes, Calallen got Aledo's attention back in 2016 and I'm sure gained some respect there but the truth of it is the only 5a title that has been won south of Austin, TX is the 2006 Alamo Heights team....that simply too long. All of us here in R4 that know HSFB are fully aware there are a handful of very good, solid RGV teams just as knowledgeable hsfb fans around the state know there are a few really good teams in R4. There are just far fewer 'top end' teams in region 4 in 5a and 6a than what there are in other regions. Hell, lets just be honest here and if we take Austin out of R4, it gets pretty damn ugly as far as state titles for R4 in 5a & 6a the past 20 or so years! My hope is that someone gets it done again soon and if that is BC or Pioneer, or any other team for that matter I will be happier than pigs in chit!

La Feria was 11-0 going into the play off game vs LH, and had destroyed everyone they played all season. Their QB was healthy and pretty good, but LH beat them 66-7. After catching up on this thread, how is Tivy, BC, Pioneer, and Brenham's Run Defense?
