Every American has the right to protest and that’s a right most people do not have by law. No one is denying them that right, to me it’s the venue and the reason. I have the right to not watch their protest, the right to not watch NFL and the right to not buy any product from Nike. Both the NFL and Nike made a choice that disrespecting our flag and anthem are acceptable to them. Rockport made a choice not to buy Nike athletic products and soon many more school districts will follow their lead, that also their right. I hope you don't own a Ford vehicle because they also recently came out in support of Kap. Get over it. Stop acting like you aren't watching the NFL. Oh Chino I have another right, I don’t have to argue with idiots, my last word on this subject.

Rockport lost a heart breaker to the Alice Coyotes 20 t0 15 last Friday. Rockport scored with two minutes to play to take a 15 to 14 lead. Alice had a fourth and six on their own 40 which they converted for a first down. Alice went on to score a TD with 45 seconds left to play. Rockport drove down to Alice's 20 yard line in the last 45 seconds but was unable to score. Rockport had almost 400 yards of total offense against Alice and got inside Alice 20 yard line 6 times without scoring.
Rockport plays #2 Ranked Goliad Tigers tonight at Pirate Stadium. Goliad is a 33 point favorite. El Campo was a 20 point favorite and Alice was a 8 point favorite against Rockport going into Rockport's last two games. Goliad has a very explosive offense and is very talented at the skill positions. Goliad's QB is extremely elusive. Goliad has several players going both ways. I think the key to this game for Rockport is will they be able to move the football, limit Goliad's opportunities on offense by controlling the ball and scoring when they are in the red zone. Rockport must keep the game close in the first half. If Rockport is able to do this, I think they have a chance to pull off the Victory. Rockport does not have any player who starts both on offense and defense. Hopefully the Rockport boys will be up to the challenge after two difficult loses in the last two minutes of their last two games.

Another Hard Fought Game by the Rockport-Fulton Pirates Losing to La Vernia 28 to 21. Rockport had several chances to tie or win this game, but drives were stopped by penalties. Rockport had the ball on La Vernia’s 10 yard line 2nd and five when they were called for holding and then next play received a flag for chop block which resulted in 2nd and 30 to kill the drive. I must say the refs called numerous flags for holding on both teams.
The Positive for Rockport is they have played toe to toe with El Campo, Alice, Goliad and La Vernia. All are very good teams. With a little luck Rockport could have won all four games. Unfortunately, they lost all four games. Hopefully Rockport will be a better team by playing the tough non District Schedule. Rockport has their bye week this week and then begins District with Sinton in Sinton. Good Luck to Rockport in District play!

The Rockport - Goliad Game was a very hard fought game by two Physical Teams. As sometimes happens when two teams are Physical tempers flared a couple of times by both teams. One Rockport player was ejected and the QB for Goliad ejected. I know the Rockport player was punished and did not play last game.

Go to texasdownlow.com in the 3a forum, one poster really upset over that game with amount of injuries Goliad had where he says it was intentionally done. Ref's were suspended for rest of the season except one according to him.

Ref's were suspended for rest of the season except one according to him. That's what I hear also. Multiple starters out (7) for Goliad with season ending injury's. Put Goliad in a bad place with multiple stars out of the season with injurys. For the refs to get booted for the season it seams that these were cheap shots? I hear that Rockport is labeled a dirty play team now. SMH

I go to all of Rockport’s games. They are a Physical Team. They are not a Dirty Team. The refs have not been banned.

Several of the Sinton players bleached their hair. I sat with them the first game of Vollyball. They left after the first game to go get ready for their game.

Rockport got District Play started last night with a Nice Win over the Sinton Pirates 47 to 20. Rockport had their best Offensive Showing of the Season. Rockport rushed for 469 yards on 55 carries for a 8.5 average yard per carry. Rockport did not throw a single pass. Rockport’s Defense also had a good game holding Sinton to 57 yards rushing and 141 yards passing. Rockport also intercepted one pass. It was nice to see Rockport get the Win after playing a very tough Non-District Schedule. Rockport will continue District play Next Friday at West Oso.

One statistic I left out of the above post: Rockport 28 First Downs Sinton 10 First Downs To Sinton’s credit they never Quit - I thought they continued to play hard the entire game. Their Defense was just on the Field too long. Sinton was hit hard by graduation. They will be back and I expect them to come in second in District.

Correction to one of the above Posts by me. Rockport plays West Oso next Friday in Rockport, Not at West Oso. Old age is starting to set in.
