Proud of him for doing that. Nike made a huge mistake by siding with folks who disrespect our flag, our anthem and the country. Hopefully many more athletic directors stop buying Nike products in the future. Here is a lesson from an Army First Sergeant. All military service men and women enlist and reenlist under the Oath of Enlistment. Under oath, they swear to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America...", which includes the First Amendment. The American Legion and VFW have released statements to the same. So all of us service men and women joined to protect Freedom of Speech. So Veterans that are no longer on active duty status are not bound by contract or Oath of Enlistment, except those that retire from active duty. It is then an integrity issue. Do I agree with kneeling during the National Anthem? No I do not. Do I support the rights to Free Speech and legal protest? Yes, I certainly do. I respect their right to protest as well. BUT, as Retired Military like you, I am offended when they disrespect MY FLAG.

I know that in my 22 years of service and 14 years of retirement, military men and women run into buildings at 1659 (4:59 PM) everyday to avoid saluting the flag at 1700 (5:00 PM). Talk about hypocrisy and disrespect. Vietnam Conflict returning military men were spat on and yelled at. That was disrespect. Kneeling to bring attention to an issue that cannot be discussed in this forum is not disrespect. It is an American right under the First Amendment. A right that all military service men and women swore to protect and defend.

Every American has the right to protest and that’s a right most people do not have by law. No one is denying them that right, to me it’s the venue and the reason. I have the right to not watch their protest, the right to not watch NFL and the right to not buy any product from Nike. Both the NFL and Nike made a choice that disrespecting our flag and anthem are acceptable to them. Rockport made a choice not to buy Nike athletic products and soon many more school districts will follow their lead, that also their right.

Kneeling while the colors are presented IS in my opinion Disrespectfull. It spits in the face of all of us that served and those that were buried under the flag. Like me I am sure you know some of those.

The difference for me is the intentional drawing attention to yourself making a show of refusing to show respect to our national anthem and flag. Besides that all Navy people know that evening colors is suposed to be held at sunset not 5 o'clock. I guess it would be confusing for Army types keeping up with Mickey's big and little hands not always being the same every day.

Good Game last night in Rockport between El Campo and Rockport- Fulton. Both teams played hard with the lead changing several times. El Campo scored with 1:30 left in the game to take a 26 to 22 Victory. El Campo played an error free game of not turning the ball over while Rockport had two critical turnovers on fumbles. Rockport also had a roughing the passer penalty on third and twenty which kept the winning drive alive. On the same drive Rockport had stopped El Campo inside the five yard line on fourth down to be nullified by an offside call. The difference in the game was Rockport’s mistakes and El Campo’s ability to avoid them. You always hate to lose a game, but Rockport has good reasons to feel good about their future. Rockport played much better against El Campo than they did against Aransas Pass. The Schedule does not get any easier next week as Rockport plays Alice in Alice followed by Goliad and La Vernia. Hopefully the schedule will make the Pirates a better football team when District starts and then into the Playoffs!

Have to admit it was closer than I expected. Nothing against RF but I've seen EC play recently and they were coming off a win against Texas City. Cudos to RF for hanging in there. They appear to be much better than I origionally thought. This is why I dont bet on games.

Omg what a bunch of cry babies and fake outrage. Kap and the others who have taken a knee have come out and said a million times it's not about disrespecting the flag or the military. Fox news made it about that to push their bullchit hate liberals narratives. Get the F over it. They have explained what the kneeling is about so if you continue to make it about something that it isn't then that's a YOU problem. The players never even use to come out for the anthem portion of the game until the government paid the NFL millions to start displaying it the way they do now. If you're not black then just stfu on the subject.

I hope you don't own a Ford vehicle because they also recently came out in support of Kap. Get over it. Stop acting like you aren't watching the NFL.
