Good luck to Rockport. They did well last year considering the circumstances and it looks like they will be do even better this year.
Hopefully we can get through the next month or so without a rinse and repeat of last season on any part of our coast. Can't believe it's been a year already.

Thanks Gpjohn! Hope you are doing well!
I got to see a portion of the Sinton - Carroll Scrimmage this morning at Cabiness Field. Going to go to GP - King Scrimmage tonight and then going to Freer tomorrow to watch Rockport-Fulton and Laredo Nixon Scrimmage. Great start to the Weekend!!!

Rockport looked good in their Scrimmage with Laredo Nixon in Freer last night. Rockport’s Offense should be much improved this year. Defense against the run will be good also. Still have work to do on Pass Defense. If Rockport can get a few Kinks worked out, they should be a Good Football Team. Rockport almost always is a Better Team as the Season moves forward..

Rockport- Fulton Won a sloppy game against Aransas Pass last night 33 to 16. Rockport fumbled the opening kick off deep in their own territory and then fumbled again on their first offensive series. Rockport’s Defense played a good game considering all the tough situations they were put in. When the Offense did not make mistakes they were able to move the football. I was very pleased with the QB play. It was Garrett’s first game to play QB and he did a good job and showed to be extremely tough running the football. Rockport plays El Campo next Friday in Rockport. The Pirates will have to clean up their mistakes to be competitive. The Pirates did play hard. Hopefully Rockport can clean up their mistakes and give the Rice Birds a Good Game.
Aransas Pass did play hard and should be very competitive this year.

Good win, AP made the playoffs last season in a good district and should be a better team this season. Good luck against the Rice Birds next week.

There is no doubt Rockport will be tested this Friday against El Campo. Hopefully Rockport can be competitive. Rockport’s schedule does not get any easier the following weeks as they will be playing Alice in Alice, Goliad, LaVernia and then start District play against Sinton in Sinton. Good Luck to the Rockport- Fulton Pirates!!!

Proud of him for doing that. Nike made a huge mistake by siding with folks who disrespect our flag, our anthem and the country. Hopefully many more athletic directors stop buying Nike products in the future.

Proud of him for doing that. Nike made a huge mistake by siding with folks who disrespect our flag, our anthem and the country. Hopefully many more athletic directors stop buying Nike products in the future. Here is a lesson from an Army First Sergeant. All military service men and women enlist and reenlist under the Oath of Enlistment. Under oath, they swear to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America...", which includes the First Amendment. The American Legion and VFW have released statements to the same. So all of us service men and women joined to protect Freedom of Speech. So Veterans that are no longer on active duty status are not bound by contract or Oath of Enlistment, except those that retire from active duty. It is then an integrity issue. Do I agree with kneeling during the National Anthem? No I do not. Do I support the rights to Free Speech and legal protest? Yes, I certainly do.
