I myself think GP is going to suprise some teams I think if your coach utilizes the speed you have in the back field that I saw last year to counter Bisby and are able to sprinkle some passes in you could give Calallen a run for their money for that second place spot..

That's seems to be the consensus around here. We're going to need to spread the ball around more. We can't rely on Devin to carry us every game. We can beat a lot of teams with just Bisby(like Alice)...lol Cochino & SoTex, but we can't beat the upper level teams pounding him 30-35 times/game. If we're gonna contend with top spots in 30-4A, we're gonna have to utilize other weapons like Geiser, Starcher, Biles, & White to name a few.

Over all it has to be a team effort the Bisby train has more wheel then one. Gp has always had a good team even before bisby came along, Use all the talant you have including bisby and the wheels will move forward. In Calhoun We will not be stupid enough to underestimate GP's Team or any other team. I remember a year where we were picked over a collective opinion that Beeville was the weaker team and it cost us the District champ title. Live and Learn I think GP will be fine. goodluck

We return 5 starters on defense, 1 lineman, 2 linebackers, & 2 DBs. We gave up a lot of yardage & points last year, so it doesn't bode well for this year's team. We have some underclassmen who will need to step up to fill the void. Seems like it will be a work in progress. We've got a new Defensive Coordinator, so maybe he can figure out a way to slow down Calhoun's triple option. Hell, we haven't been able to slow it down the last several years...I expect GREAT things from Calhoun this year irregardless of what others think. I believe this could be y'all's best playoff run since the year y'all lost the state championship game!

If Alice doesn't cough up the ball like we did last year, I think it will be a good game. You are spot on about utilizing your other weapons. Question is, are y'all going to be able to have players step up to replace the offensive line. If G.P. can do that, and improve on defense, you guys should be fine.

We all know what happened...no one from G-P doubts the ability of the Crabs. Y'all had some tough injuries of key players late in the season.

Without the turnovers, Alice probably would have won that game last year. Bisby got his yards, but we struggled defending Alice and had some short fields to score a lot of our points. It's going to be a tough game for us this season vs Alice.

Well as we all know, its not how you start the year, its how you end it, and Calhoun did not play very well vs Floresville or EE. I have a theory as to what happened but it would only be ridiculed to death on this site. anyway, good luck to you and yours To be honest with you, I know about as much of PLC, as you know about Alice. Yes, injuries can really hurt a team especially when they don't have much depth. It happened to Alice in the regular season last year. If it wasn't suspensions, it was injuries to key players, heck, we were down to our 3rd and 4rth string quarterbacks at one point.

No doubt Alice & Calhoun will be great teams this year. I believe both teams can make a deep playoff run. I would love to see Calhoun vs Alice at Buc Stadium in this year's playoffs!

Bisby's a perfect back for a true spread offense, but that means we need to continue to spread the ball to the speed options outside. I don't think we did that very consistently last season until the last playoff win or two, but sometimes having a great players hurts if you don't develop the options around them. GP has a few speed options and if they can get the ball out quickly to their WRs it could help spread the D out to make the running game even better.
I'm still not sure if we have a defense that can consistently stop the pinpoint execution we see in PLC and to a lesser extent Alice.
I expect a good, solid team that plays tough but also think PLC is still the class of the District followed by Calallen.
