God...I can't wait for the season to start! We will be in week 9 and you will be wondering where the hell it went. This will be a special year for you this season(your son is a SR.). Last year was very special for me as I got to watch both of my sons play together one season at G-P. Watching your son play football for possibly the last time in his life is a very difficult thing to do. Enjoy this season! I'm lucky enough to have two more years left with my youngest. As many on here can attest, enjoy every one of your son's games! The Boys of Fall!

Personally I think GP has got to quit loading thw box against calhoun. Whitaker will continue to eat them up that way. The best I've seen teams play against the option is calallen and EE. They have discipline defenses. Their Lbers read amd react. They aren't blitzing. They are playing sound assignment football.

True...we have never figured out how to stop the triple option over the last several years.

Bisby's a perfect back for a true spread offense, but that means we need to continue to spread the ball to the speed options outside. I don't think we did that very consistently last season until the last playoff win or two, but sometimes having a great players hurts if you don't develop the options around them. GP has a few speed options and if they can get the ball out quickly to their WRs it could help spread the D out to make the running game even better. I'm still not sure if we have a defense that can consistently stop the pinpoint execution we see in PLC and to a lesser extent Alice. I expect a good, solid team that plays tough but also think PLC is still the class of the District followed by Calallen. You made some great points. IMO, go to Bisby 20-25 plays a game, no more than that if you can help it. Utilize your other athletes, so defenses don't load the box and key on him. You guys have to remember, last year was coach A's 1st year at the helm. New offense, new defense. G.P. will need to get better defensively. If they can do that, you should have a good team.

I think if G-P doesn't make the playoffs this year, Coach A will not be forced out or he will not leave the program. This will be his 3rd season as head coach. Now, if they struggle the next couple of seasons, I believe there will be an uproar over here to replace him. I believe in him and his ability to coach, so I think it will be a non-issue. The kids are really buying into his program.

I'm not part of the insider crowd here, but he's made the playoffs both seasons he's been here so don't see this happening. Although I'd be really surprised if they didn't make the playoffs...they should be 3rd with a shot at beating Calallen for 2nd.

I was just curious. I don't wamma start the rumur so lets be clear that was a question posed by an outsider. Just plain curious what the sentiment in GP was.
I think yall will have a good team this season. But. Idk about the following years. Too early to tell

The guys who know football here like coach "a". I personally think this year is my deciding factor. If he can make this team into winners then I'll give him the thumbs up. This year he brought in some coaches who have good resumes. I just hope he utilizes his talents and keeps the D honest.

I personally believe it takes at least 4 years for a new program to flourish. Learning the new scheme starting at the Junior High level and weeding out the old offense. These kids will not know the old Slot-T plays an longer. Teaching the lineman how to pass block, rather than run block every play. Our QB's will not be successfully if the O-line can't pass block. Gp will continue to have the just "run" the ball mentality.

I think VW is gonna give us all trouble....It's mostly a hunch, but last couple of years they have had a descent Offense, their D was terrible. If they improve their D and make a few key stops each game, they could take the 3rd spot in 30-4A for sure... Just for fun...."IF" Calallen don't find an Offense & "IF" GP relies on the Bisby train too much & "IF" PLC is just a fluke (like Alice thinks).... VW VE TM Bee GP Cal PLC

Lots of construction at stadium. New track being installed. Dirt pile behind highschool is a sign of the huge multi sport building that should start construction soon!

Bisby at Refugio? may get 10 touches now on defense that is a whole different story.
