Anyone read Whitaker's quote in the CCT today regarding VW's speed? VW spreads you out with three and four receivers than they try misdirection runs or pass if they break the line of scrimmage and The DBS or LBS miss the first tackle they do have speed to break long runs the fastest team I seen Calhoun play this year.. Calhoun adjusted well in the second half... now back to the thread FB wins a close one ........................ I think he was talking about the speed in space scares him quote. Freudian slip?

I expect the kids to really get up for this game......they know it's for the District Championship. Ray's DB's won't match up well with the WR's of FB. Mosley won't be able to run wild like he did a couple of weeks ago. It will be very interesting who FB puts on Brooks?

No question the Hornets know they have a game to play this week with another team who also know how to win. I expect FB to be fired up and wanting to take care of business.

It's a good time of the season to have this game. Win or lose, both teams will improve from it.

That's a good thing as you know you will run into good passing teams in the PO rounds. On the flip side the Ray D should be used to going against their own O so that will let FB O go against a D used to defending the pass also.

Looks like Ray kept the pedal to the metal against Martin scoring 33 of their 60 points in the second half with all the starters going full speed. We should take this score with a grain of salt. Nobody from Ray will break one on our secondary...our MLB is faster than any of their backs or receivers. Did you see Cameron trucking it on that 50 yard INT? He was one happy camper my son said afterward and he vere well should have been...congrats to him!
This game comes at a great time and should give our starters more work than they have had the last few weeks. Ray should get some yards both on the ground and through the air, but our D will toughen up where it counts. Shorter fields play to our advantage and we have bent some in the past but not broken.
Mosely, Merino, Brooks, and Barerra will all be under the microscope. Speaking of shear athletic talent (passing accuracy, speed, and escapability), Clay is several degrees better than Mosely. Mosely has a better supporting cast, but our D will be up for the challenge.
This game will be a good barometer for us at this point in the season.

Good for many reasons......DBs need to stay on the WRs of Ray. Mosley is not as mobile as Clay but appears to throw pinpoint passes. Hopefully, Dline get some sacks.

Dang it another out for the season according to RUMOR. I have the count at 4 starters out now. The back ups are going to have to step up big. Good thing Coach has been getting a lot of guys plenty of snaps so they will be ready.

Good thing Coach has been getting a lot of guys plenty of snaps so they will be ready. Very unfortunate indeed. Tucker should be at full speed this game and Ian should get some playing time as well. That frees up Barerra to play some DE or DL. The JV kids that have been brought up can all step in. We are very deep this year in talent and the separation isn't that much different. Playing against Ray, we may use another DB at LB sometimes anyway. Remember Dominic can play some LB still also. We can move a lot of people around which is nice.

Going to have to miss this one. Cory is having homecoming this week and he is one of two finalest for Chief (King). I only get to watch him for two more games then it is all over untill he starts coaching.

Anybody that saw Ray scrimmage Sinton, knows that they did'nt come out of nowhere. This is a very good offensive team, and much improved defense. Defense does a good job swarming to the ball, weakness open-field tackling. Brooks is a great receiver.

Last year was last year and never the two shall meet but there is NO doubt in my mind that FB is much improved over last season particularly on defense. Is Ray THAT much improved? We will know Friday but that would be a pretty huge amount of improvement. I would also add if it is true that their weakness is tackling in space they will have a huge problem stopping the FB offense. I would never take any team lightly but would rather prepare like it is the last game you will ever play and it is for a championship. Stay focused Hornets. Not one lazy step practice or game time. You have a target on you now.

Good thing Coach has been getting a lot of guys plenty of snaps so they will be ready. Defense still should be ok with some to step up. In the last few weeks, you can see the timing on Mims passes is on target. Last week was a strange game for both sides of the ball but special teams got into the act with the punt return. Someone said in another post that this team reminded them of the 05 team. FB had some great TD runs on kickoffs during that season. This will be a really good test for the DBs. GO Hornets
