Congratulations to Cigarroa running back Jesse Sanchez for being an Academy Sports and Outdoors player of the week. Just wondering can a player be given this award more than once in the year? Since Nixon's QB Ralph Perez & RB Richie Rendon have already won it. I'm not taking anything away from Jesse Sanchez as he is a real good player but Richie Rendon had a better performance I guess thats why im asking this question. RB Jesse Sanchez: 18 Carries, 111 yards, 1 TD - 5 Receptions, 26 yards & 1 interception. RB Richie Rendon: 16 Carries, 154 yards, 2 TD's - 3 Receptions, 65 yards, 1 TD. I think it's a conspiracy.

well maybe he understands that some people are not just arm chair qb but played the game and understand the game. plus we watch the game not just sit there and cheer, yea i read that, was kind of ironic. Two things every man in America BELIEVES he can do; coach football and work a BBQ pit I can cook on a pit or stove but I don't want to coach. Way to many crittics LOL

Way to many crittics LOL I have to think that if you choose to be a HS football coach you have to have considered all the second guessing and emotion from players, parents and fans that come with it and have accepted that as a fact you were ok to live with. Could be worse if you became an umpire.

Blow out 57 - 7 with running clock second half. Cig 3 and out. FB runs back the punt for a TD. Had two pick 6 ints and the FB O ran two plays and scores another TD. 30 - 0 first quarter. It went down hill from there.

Big game next week for the District Championship.

How about that 57 yard average for our QB/Punter! He has gotten us out of some jams punting the ball this year...and, he is generally one of the first defeners down the field and in on the tackle.
Will he get to play some DB this week?? My guess would be only if needed.

If any of the Cigarroa people read this, i would like to commend your football program as a Total class act. I was moved by the great sportsmanship i observed from your guys. On every play, i watched the Cigarroa boys give it there all and they never gave up, even when they were down 50 points. I also noticed how they help each other up after every play and not only that, they helped our guys back up as well. In addition, once back on their feet, hand shakes and pats on the back exchanged from both sides through out the game. Don't want to sound all corny and all, but observing this was great! No arguments, cheap shots, or attitude was observed either. Again, a total class act and i wish your program the best of luck in the future!
