This would be a good game for Flour Bluff to work on their weaknesses, if there is any.

This would be a good game for Flour Bluff to work on their weaknesses, if there is any. there is a LOT to work on, penalties, blocking, simple things, they have the talent but need to work on the fine points Sent from my PC36100 using proboards

The talent is there and luckily we were able to come back from the many small mistakes were making in several of our games. I fear that once we enter the playoffs, if we haven't gotten those small issues taken care of, then my Hornets will have a short run... the defense is doing great but the offense needs to be more consistent. Once the offense gets their act together the team will most definately be a force to be reckoned with by any in reg 4 or beyond. just my two cents. no offense to any of the other FB posters. Im a big fan as any of you are

I hate games like this one. On paper and reality both, it should be one the Bluff can rest up the first teamers in the second half. BUT, it is within the first half you have the chance for those freak injuries to occur. I've seen it before and I don't know if it's because the players are too loose and they let their guard down and open themselves up to an injury or what? Just dump 28-35 on them in the first half and then get the starters off the field in the second.

Im a big fan as any of you are I liked what I saw on offense Friday night. For 2.5 quarters, the starters looked good and the offense looked more balanced. Mims' completion percentage was the best all year (11-13) and he mixed in more short hitch type passes with the long bombs. The backs ran more north-south this week than they have in any other game. They kept the turnovers down and looked good out of all formations. The penalties were horrible though...for both teams. We gave up 163 yards due to stupid penalties...quite a few which were personal fouls. Those kids were immediately yanked out of the game and ripped a new one on the sideline. You can't beat better teams giving up those kinds of yards. The defense was solid once again with the first team giving up a TD pass on 3rd and long when the ref interferred with our defender who had great position with the receiver until the basketball pick if you will. Not worried about that TD. Clay extended several plays, but was held in check when we needed to. We had some good sacks and pressures on him and contained him pretty well. His completions all came when he had about 6 seconds to throw the ball and the Miller O line deserves credit because we had some physical and fast DL coming after Clay. They pass block pretty well and Clay is good and stepping up in the pocket. Clay finally broke in the 3rd on a great escape showing nice moves. You have to give him credit as our D is very fast and physical and pretty deep as we are finding out the more the second and third teamers get in the game. I say our goal should be 250 yards passing and 250 yards on the ground by the end of the 3rd quarter giving up only 150 on D while limiting the penalties this week. We should see some air shows the next 4 games to test our pass D. I think they will respond with flying colors.

I would add I am looking forward to some INTs by the FB secondary the next few games.

Find a kid that wants to return a kickoff and/or a punt. North and South runner if possible.

I forgot about fielding a punt...the coaches brought up Silver from the JV and he did it nicely in the Martin game but got injurred. I don't know the extent of his injuries, but i would sure like him back. Give up yards on not fielding punts is a stat that is highly overlooked and I wish it was quantified somewhere. I know we would be leading the lead in lost yardage in this category for sure.

Im a big fan as any of you are the d is getting most of the flags. last weeks game with all the personal fouls called was rediculous. d needs to clean it up, and keep playing hard.

Agree and I still did not see what they were calling. Not face mask or out of bounds or late hits I could see. Any clue?

Maybe but several were on defensive starters. The game got very sloppy. I hate games like the Miller game. Kids start forgetting where they're suppose to be and running out of their lanes on kickoff etc.
