Clem....here are the state coaches polls. We can beat EE and VW...they are getting their ranking from what happened last year...also Mission Vets. We will probably play Floresville in round 3 and that will be a tough game...we beat them once already, but they have a 6'2" girl on their squad as well. After Floresville, it will probably be Dripping Springs...and that will be a tough one! Class 4A 1. Lucas Lovejoy 2. Friendswood 3. Aledo 4. Hutto 5. Dallas Highland Park 6. Amarillo 7. Dumas 8. Edcouch Elsa 9. Victoria West 10. Canyon Randall 11. Dripping Springs 12. Cedar Park 13. El Paso 14. Red Oak 15. Longview Pine Tree 16. Mission Veteran's Memorial 17. Waxahachie 18. Magnolia 19. Port Neches Groves 20. Canyon 21. Corpus Christi Flour Bluff 22. Boerne Champion 23. Hays 24. Leander 25. Texarkana Texas 26. El Paso Eastlake 27. Alamo Heights 28. Harlandale 29. Mercedes 30t. El Paso Burges 30t. Hereford Honorable Mention: McCollum, Austin McCallum, Ann Richards School, El Paso Jefferson, Carrollton Creekview, Medina Valley, Uvalde and Floresville Wow! Nice to see so many strong teams in R4 this year again. Them Hippoettes of Hutto High must be pretty dang salty. Good luck man..........would love to see your girls win the region and go to state tourney!!! Hutto is actually in Region III, District 17-4A now. The wonderful UIL Realignment.

Looks like they may get a chance to knock off the #8 team in state in the Regional Quarterfinal if Ed Couch can beat Floresville to get there.

Brackets are starting to be filled in. See link above post. If FB and Calallen win their first games they will go head to head in the second round.

Hopefully the Bluff and Calallen will get to play each other in the 2nd Round. I figure if that happens, the game will probably be played at either Ray or Carroll and should garner a good crowd. We need all the Bluff fans we can for that one.
On Friday, the Bluff played a warm-up game against the Carroll Tigers at Flour Bluff. The Bulff had lost two matches to Carroll at the beginning of the season, but were able to pull out the victory last Friday in 5 games. Carroll was without one of their starters who quit the team suddenly last week. Evidently there is something rotten in Tigerland Volleyball at this time. I hope they can straighten it out because they should have a good playoff run as well.
Congrats to the Bluff girls with the victory and they looked VERY GOOD in the process. If they play like that, they will have a shot at the Region IV crown imo. Harper had a match high 24 kills in leading the Hornets while Luby had 10. Bomba and Williams had close to 20 digs between them. It's good to see the girls play at this level as many of the naysayers (which includes former volleyball players and their parents??) credited the girl's record with the weakness of their district. I guess they don't think all those pre-season victories over 5A schools amounted to anything.
Excellent job Lady Hornets....second season begins tomorrow...stay focused one game at a time and play like you did on Friday and good things will happen.
