FB girls swept C.C. Ray 3-0 even though Mierzwa was all over the court for the Texans. Mierzwa got 17 kills for Ray while Harper and Luby had 16 and 15 respectively for the Hornets.
FB's record is now 22-5. They might have to reach that 30 win mark before getting any love from the CCT.

They travel to Laredo on Tuesday and then back at FB for Alice on Friday. I'm sure neither game will get any coverage.

Another article on Calallen volleyball and more love to T-M volleyball also. Combine both their wins and you get a couple more than what FB has on their own! LOL...gotta love the CCT.
More than likely FB will face Calallen in the Area Championship if they can maintain the level of volleyball they have been playing. An appearance in the Regional Semi's is not out of the question, but there is a pretty scrappy Floresville team that will be standing in the way along with their tall star player Jamie Crowder. The semi's will be tough with possible teams from the upper bracket including Alamo Heights, Dripping Springs, and Boerne Champion who like FB are all 20 game winners at this point in the season.
I think the Region IV Champion will come from the names of the teams above. San Antonio Brennen and Victoria West could also make some waves.

Looks like they are building some serious momentum for the playoffs. Would be awesome to see them rep our region at the state tournament!!!!

FB girls were 7-0 the first round of district and are now 23-5 on the season with all 5 losses to powerhouse 5A schools. If they can continue to play together as a team and not get caught in any girl drama, they should make a nice push in the playoffs. They need to schedule a practice game against Carroll for the days in between the last district game and the first playoff game as they are the two best teams in the area. This will be great for both schools, but needs to be done before someone else does it.

At least the announcer on Friday night gave the girls their just due props even if the Crappy Times won't.

Here is last weeks 4A Poll. The new one should be out on Tuesday of this week. I can't believe VW, EE, and MV's are all ranked higher than FB. Also, I think Floresville needs to be on the Poll as they will be the best team in our bottom bracket come playoffs. Note 10 out of the top 25 are from Region IV.
Class 4A 1. Lucas Lovejoy 2. Friendswood 3. Amarillo 4. Aledo 5. Dumas 6. Hutto 7. Dallas Highland Park 8. Longview Pine Tree 9. Dripping Springs - Region IV 10. Canyon Randall 11. El Paso Eastlake 12. Edcouch Elsa - Region IV 13. Victoria West - Region IV 14. Cedar Park - Region IV 15. Red Oak 16. Mission Veteran's Memorial - Region IV 17. Alamo Heights - Region IV 18. Waxahachie 19. Hays - Region IV 20. Canyon 21. Boerne Champion - Region IV 22. Corpus Christi Flour Bluff - Region IV 23. Montgomery 24. El Paso 25. Mercedes - Region IV

Very true...that's the case with VW for sure. The girls swept Nixon tonight but there seemed to be some friction amongst the team. The coaches and players need to have a group hug and come to Jesus meeting before the playoffs begin. The only team that can stop this team is this team. I'd hate to see us lose to a lesser team. All these girls are special and contribute. Let's hope this was a small bump in the road and that they become the cohesive unit they need to be to win the Region.
