Bargas was a great QB. He will be missed..
Im excited about our team next season. If only Whitaker.could find another kid to step up at FB, sure do miss Elijah Brooks,he would have been perfect. If whit does find someone else to step in at FB and let.Cory play slot ans more on defense...watch out. Loaded deck again. But,alot of work to be done till then. The champions course will dictate these.boys success come fall

You think Trey could step in and play some FB?
Saw him at Wal-Mart the other day and he has bulked up a bit. But he, IMO, will be the leader of the defense. Put him in at SS or FS and let him roam the field looking for someone to hit or a ball to catch.
Saw the kids practicing at the stadium last night and it about killed me to keep driving by. Next Thursday we all can check them out from 4:30 pm on.

I have the uptmost confidence,if Whitaker continues amd builds his "progra." Here, he will have similar results ,if not a state championships

Here, he will have similar results ,if not a state championships I don't see it from that offense, but I would love to eat my words, because in the end it would be a SC for Region IV and the area. I should say though, it's been the D, not the O which has kept you guys from exiting the region. Either way, if you guys had a QB who could sling it i.e. Tommy Frazier style, I'd love to run that offense. Nothing over the top all day.

I think we could have scored on just about anyone last year. But, we couldn't stop KT's QB from killing us. This has been a recurring theme for us for a few years. IMO, a State Title can be won with any offense that puts up 40 pts regularly. We put up some points on some decent defensive teams last year. Granted, the Calallen game was early, but we did manage 27 points on a really good defensive club. There was no secret what was coming. You had to tackle just 1 of 4 backs on 90% of the offensive plays. We threw in a few passes just because, but they knew what was coming and failed to stop it for 4 quarters. Stopped it for 2 quarters, but not 4.
And our defense played stellar against the run all year. But, again (insert broken record here), we couldn't stop the dual threat QB. That IMO, is why we haven't gotten out of the Region. Not the Triple Option or lack of a passing game. We scored 61, 39 and 43 points in our 3 playoff games this year. We averaged over 42 points in playoff games last year. These should be enough to win especially when you are a run heavy team. But, it just hasn't worked out that way.

Just don't see the TO working against the Region III and in the Finals. You'd have to loosen up those Ds, which are big, fast and well coached. Something we don't see a lot of in R3.

Triple option has won state title on big school level before, it certainly can happen on the 4a level. Riddle me this, how many of these young gun, spread guru guys know how to stop a true triple option? Because no one in this region, includong Calallen, has done so.

Triple option has won state title on big school level before, it certainly can happen on the 4a level. That's interesting, who and when? Specifically the TO, not teams who run out of a wing or spread. Riddle me this, how many of these young gun, spread guru guys know how to stop a true triple option? Because no one in this region, includong Calallen, has done so. We did in what 07 or 09, rather easily. You haven't seen those hotshot teams do it because PLC hasn't won the region to prove it. If you can't play defense, that offense will put you in a bind within the first 2 qtrs against a Spread offense or just a multiple set offense.
