I think he means Michael Booker Booker didn't play in 94, which is the year being discussed. Booker was a junior in 92... Heck of a back... I got to know him during track somewhat... The young man I'm referring to was after Wes played even and his last name was definitely price....

LOL. Now that's bad when you wear some other schools colors. Never saw that before. That dude is/was a whack job. But I bet he was a lot of fun! Haha Yeah he was fun and a whack job.... My senior year (the 92 season) he had us practice all week in the gym for Calallen because he thought danaher had scouts in the neighborhood filming our practices... Mind you we were 7-0 at the time and had rolled over everyone but the bluff and a state ranked aransas pass team so far that year and Calallen had lost to a then #1 or #2 ranked GP team so he had us believing that we mattered and it wasn't just his ego.... But yeah it didn't go well for us 20-0 because we honestly never were ready for what we faced that night....

Did he show up to practice wearing a new hat too?

Our coach, Don Schmidt, was about to get fired (and not a day too soon) and he basically let us go after school. It was the last game of the season and he obviously didn't give a crap. It turned out to be the only varsity game I ever lost against Calallen and was the start of the current drought of T-M football against C5. I remember talking to Campbell after the game and telling him I should have listened to him and left when he did. The highlight of the game for me was pushing Kent Osborn into Danaher when he split out to the sideline. They ran a middle screen to Salinas and took it to the house on that play. About the only thing we stopped that night was the belly bum...and I had a beer bet with Osborn that he wasn't going to score on it! Bill Rhyne has really been the only good football coach T-M has had that I can remember.

And if he's thinking about Bonds, he most certainly did not play for five years. Nice rumor-mongering, though, even 15+ years down the road....

He was an honor student.

I knew Brandon and his dad as well and yeah smart guy he could have taken the accellerated track in school and graduated in 2 years cause he was so smart. And I looked up victor and he played in 97,98,99 that I could find anyway. And no it wasn't Benibo either... This kid played only a couple games or something his sophomore year and had an accident and apparently missed school even and was granted a hardship waiver of some sort by uil and thus was at Calallen 3 more years and was permitted to play each of those three years as well. It wasn't that he was dumb or failed from getting f's in classes. I thought it was victor after seeing the stats I looked up but maybe not... Regardless the kid was a beast and unstoppable... Once I learned the story behind him playing longer I was even more impressed with his skills.

However, he only played 4 years and missed his last one due to a knee injury in the long jump.

He was a great athlete too and a nice guy... His leg was tore up bad.... I can still picture it and see him lying there screaming. Anyway no matter the kid I am thinking of was legit and I wasn't trying to say anything to the contrary when I mentioned it first... I know Calallen deals with enough allegations through out the year.... I do hope Boone turns TM around and they start winning games on a consistent basis and eventually start getting to the playoffs with winning records not 5-5 or 6-4 either.... But it will take discipline and time for that to happen... Quit being nut grabbers and cheap shot boys and earn respect from other teams.... I'm talking extreme discipline where a personal foul penalty gets you benched the rest of the game and if the same player does it again in the season bench them multiple games.... I hate seeing them play like they have these last 3 coaches worth of seasons....

I had the privilege of coaching his grandson and granddaughter at TM or at least they appeared to be his grandkids... They were both good kids and athletes...

There was definitely a big difference between that game and the game the year before. The game two years before that one was a really good game...T-M won 18-13...it was my first game back from a knee injury and we had a goalline stand to win. I remember getting a good shot on William Brown and getting into a scuffle...lol. We were drinking beer together at the Chaparral a few hours later!

The Chap recently had their first concert in many years...Kevin Fowler played there. I wanted to go just for old times sake.
