Any help they were getting from the tranfers from London ISD is over. Looks pretty sad for them as far as football goes. But they are getting them from elsewhere. If Robstown keeps on with their low performance (test scores and attendence), they might even get more as well as Calallen. It's hard to believe Robstown HS is down in the 700's so quickly. The road they are going down spells doom if they don't turn it around. On subject, I say they should give Boone a chance. The last two guys they've brought from the outside haven't done so well, so why not give him a chance? Never understood how the kids in this neck of the woods (Calallen/Annaville) can play on the same youth league teams for football, baseball and basketball, and save for basketball, they go south in football and baseball once they start playing on school teams. And I know TM has had some great individual talent, but it just goes nowhere. its coaching difference. Calallen and TM were about even back in the 80's.

I completely agree it's coaching and discipline.... The young men at calallen are coached to be successful and believe in the system that instills the discipline it takes to be successful, the young men at TM haven't believed in the coaches systems in a very long time... And haven't had good football coaching in a very long time either

Agree on the coaching 100%. If you get beat on a play, you got beat. If you're out of position or fail on your assignment over and over you are not the right player for that assignment or you haven't been taught. Both of which are coaching failures.

Nope talbert went 4-6,6-4,8-2,2-7-1.... And crawford was close to that I believe and he beat GP... Every time I think of Talbert, I'm reminded of Boog Air's famous story from his senior year... ...that story needs to be retold.

Every time I think of Talbert, I'm reminded of Boog Air's famous story from his senior year... ...that story needs to be retold. Which one is it where he threatened to whip danaher in the middle of the field after the game? The one where he threatened to have his way with him in the middle of the field after the game? The one where we got GP's qb to come to TM only to have Calallen get him to come there during football season and getting him declared ineligible only to have him come back to TM to want to go to the bluff for basketball only to have him stay at TM because his dad was afraid to have his son get declared ineligible again for school shopping...? Talbert went on to be highly successful in comfort, malakoff, and a couple other places before jumping to the college ranks now at east Carolina as an assistant there.... He was strict and completely insane when it came to his program but we were willing to do what he said because he always showed he had our backs when it counted... FYI a Calallen coach was once one of his assistance and had a very successful Calallen qb son but before all that he and Talbert got into a fist fight during practice giving each other black eyes and bruised cheeks... That same year Talbert fired almost every assistant coach at the end of the year so the year we went 8-2 my senior year we pretty much had a entirely new staff of coaches...

Not sure, but I think the one I remember Boog telling is when Talbert was crying at half-time because they had a lead, and he was trying to get the game called...or something similar.

Didn't he try to get the players to commit to carrying him off the field if they held on and won the game? That would be it. I think it was the '94 season. T-M led Cal 14-7 at halftime. The way Boog tells it, one of his buddies that played for T-M told him that Talbert was crying in the locker room at the half telling the players that he wanted to be carried off the field when they won the game. Cal came back to win 35-20.

Yeah that's the game Calallen held out the price kid that played 5 years for them. He returned the 2nd half kickoff for a touchdown then it was pretty much over as Calallen took the momentum and ran with it... Also believe that was either the final year or next to final year of the Talbert regime then Crawford came in and beat GP his first year there then went downhill after that.... Talbert's final year the TM kicker missed a field goal to beat GP at GP....
