Obviously, this will depend on how healthy we are but I am confident that we will win state at least once of the next two seasons. Our current sophomore class is extremely talented. And there's obviously at least a chance of winning both, which would be a four-peat. That would be some way to finally go into 6A with a bang! A lot has to go right, but we really got set up with a fantastic opportunity for the next two years once DeSoto opted back up to 6A.

No doubt in my mind DeSoto opting up increased our chances significantly. Now we just have to get to work and prove it come playoff time.

Going into spring ball, no surprise that #10 will be the front runner for starting qb. Do we know who will be considered the backup? Maybe #88 (another good athlete from the current sophomore class).

AA, when you played HS football for Aledo, did you think it was more advantageous to have spring practice or earlier fall practice? I'm assuming Aledo didn't have the indoor practice facility during your tenure which may make a difference when choosing.

Im 100% a fan of spring for several reasons. 1) It gives the kids and coaches an idea of what to expect come two-a-days. 2) By the spring you're burnt out on only lifting and running (unless you play a spring sport). 3) Aledo has been making deep runs for 3 decades now, practicing 20 weeks in a row is pretty insane (3 weeks before the season plus a run to state).

Read that Denton Guyer will be loaded this upcoming season, especially their o-line. IMO, Aledo's d-line will be their strength. Will be a great game to open the season.

It would be awesome if he was Deacon Barnes (Aledo radio genius statistician)! I'd like a pdf copy of all the Aledo numbers from over the years. He's a friend of mine, I can ask. He will look and see if he still has copies and let me know. He had a big chuckle being called "Aledo Radio genius statistician". FYI... its Starnes
