Pieper has something special brewing over there. Great Coaching Staff!! As far as scheming on both Offense and Defense, I think they are the best in the district - although their game management is a little head scratching sometimes. Overall, they along with SV are in my opinion the best in District overall.

I'm way behind on game review due to a lot of recent travel, but regarding Fridays slate of district games, I have SV over B-C by 3 scores, New Braunfels by 40 over MacArthur, and Seguin over Victoria East by 7. Lots of points in all 3 games , at least by the winners! Hopefully the wife lets me go to the SV game tonight... Since it's past midnight and I'm still not home yet... 3 scores? BC fan here - BC isn’t Madison. That offense can drop points quick and in a hurry. SV is incredibly disciplined and will make you beat them by executing and playing flawless. If you haven’t seen Navarette, he is smooth and is making decisions you expect of older players. SV is still the king with Larry Hill , so until then mazel tov! Agreed, they aren't Madison. But, do you really think BC is 7 scores better than Madison? SV beat them 65-0, roughly 10 scores. I've seen Navarette and I also noted the competition level he played against. Easy to be smooth when people aren't pressuring you and the back end can't cover. I'm giving B-C props, they are a good squad. Neither team is as good as last years teams, I believe the gap may be closer than last year when SV won by 5 scores in Boerne, hence 3 scores.

It’s all good. This district is the SEC of the hill country I’m a fan first - and part time analysis isn’t my thing. But just for the guy that said “you must be new” http://instagram.com/p/DAECNE3RqCP 2 of the 6 pick BC to win outright. SV is king until they aren’t, BC isn’t to be dismissed! Mazel tov

Mazel tov I’ve followed BC and HS football in the area since 2012 and never heard of this publication. I’m willing to guess whoever picks these games rarely gets out of the house or still wears their own HS letter jacket. I’m a big fan of the BC coach, hope they do well, just don’t see the talent or horses. Hope I come back tonight to see a post from you saying “told ya so”

It’ll be more than 3 scores. Navarette is a good sophomore QB, but don’t confuse him with Green, Brin, or Boyers of Champion pasts. BC doesn’t have the horses to play physically with SV. It’ll be difficult for Champion to score more that 10-14 pts You nailed it

A few impressions about BC from the SV game: BC Quarterback Navarette is the real deal - he has impressive arm strength and downfield accuracy, he is quick and buys time while scanning the field and anticipates the rush well. SV just brought more than BC could block, as I had SV for 7 sacks. Navarette sees the field well and throws the ball where it needs to go. I really like the design of the BC offense, and Navarette runs it well. The BC receivers didn't always help the cause, I had them for 4 drops, including a sure 50 yard TD. SV also played coverage better than anyone else BC has seen this year. Those wide open easy completions became contested catches, and SV separated BC receivers from the ball at least 4 times. SV had tight coverage across the field, with one blown coverage. Tough game for BC and Navarette, but that is probably the best defense they will see the whole year and they still played it fairly well. If Navarette gets a little bigger, he could be a college starter at QB.
That being said, BC is a bit limited at least this year with regard to the supporting cast in a really tough district. Their defense had to crowd the LOS in an attempt to stop the SV running game, which didn't really work. SV continued to run, and also threw the ball over their heads successfully. SV just plain won the physical part of the game. BC won't see as much power from most of the district outside of Wagner, Pieper and New Braunfels. They are definitely in the mix for a playoff spot, but will have to beat one of those 3 teams to do so.

The district title will be decided this coming week. BC & NB are my picks for the 3rd & 4th spots. Right now I'd take NB 3rd and BC 4th.

I just haven't seen enough to form an opinion, but they sure have been impressive the way they have won. I need to set aside some time to see some of their games. Wagner looked good early against Pieper, but after the first quarter, Pieper owned them. They may be too limited in the passing game to contend. I seriously don't think either of their QBs can throw more than 10 yards downfield.

For the smugs - you called it. Like I said, BC fan
Tough game for BC. SV D Line systematically tested the OLine with twist and stunts to get Woods loose. BC OLine is their most experienced unit and definitely had a “growth” game.
Navarette , is going to make people respect his deep ball.
SV is a great team. Like was said before, so much depth.
Looking forward to the rest of district - some great games to be played. Peace

You were right about a lot of things about BC, you just didn't know the opposition as well

I really want to see what BC does to bounce back. The culture of accountability has made a 180 since Coach Ellis. The SV culture - where no one is comfortable being a backup - is truly impressive
X’s and O’s, are important but getting everyone to summer workouts is even more important.
