Yeah didn't see #2 out there. The secondary really concerns me. Too damn many blown coverages and if the Bishop QB missed some opportunities on some wide open receivers. Also getting the vibe that there is no senior leadership. If Alice can get that secondary fixed, they might have a pretty good team. But it was Bishop, and yes it was just a scrimmage. ya it seem we started putting pressure on them and that helped our secondary out.. kinda hid them. but i think we will figure it out coach did say they needed to see who can play and figure it out and make adjustments. o-line is definitely young as well. as long as we keep improving we will be okay. What concerns me is the leadership from the senior's. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but #10 is a SR, and even he was out of place in the secondary on at least two plays. I know Alice is young, but those guys should be getting in those kids ear. I'm probably overthinking this, especially since it was a scrimmage, but the leadership from those guys seemed lackadaisical to me. I hope I'm wrong.

Alice will definitely have players going both ways. I counted 39 players suited up. That's not good for a 5-A team.

Overthinking this time of year is to be expected. Lol. A lot of it on the Calallen thread

i went tonight. first string alice 3 bishop 1. 2nd string Alice i think had 2 and bishop 0. there was no quarter played. For the most part Alice dominated. had some big plays but alot of plays pretty much sustained drives with scores. Defensively fet like we could of been better felt like by the end we were starting to hit and swarm to the ball. it was hard to get a good read on how good we really r because of who we played. but we didnt struggle so thats good. felt like #6 ran good if he was just a little faster but definitely take it. i like seeing #25 run the ball dude is a beast. i didnt see #2 out there tonight. but saw him in the stands when i was walking out not sure whts up with that. i give props to bishop they played hard. Is he not on the team anymore? He was there last week when I said I liked #2's vocal leadership. The photos the district put out of the meet the Coyotes didn't have a kid wearing #2 either. It started with #3 Pederson. I'm just now snapping that #2 looks like #25 and they have the same last name. Are they twins?

There's actually 3 Alviar's on the team. #1. #2 and #25. According to a friend of mine who's related to them, none are twins, but two were born 11 months apart and #1 is a cousin. Don't quote me on this, because he isn't sure himself lol.

I also went tonight to get a glimpse of our team will shape up.
Offensively we look solid with the running game in Gonzalez, Salaiz, Trejo & Alviar. Cruz did well despite several passes that were off target, I know he left one of the receivers open which I heard the coach telling him. Line looked solid as well despite getting the other young big hoss some repetitions.
Defensively we look solid up front despite secondary issues, I know the sophomores saw 1st team reps which is a good problem to have to see how the coaches see this from their own perspective. I’ll be frank with y’all our secondary needs some work, I know one of the returnees didn’t suit up.
I know we don’t have enough seniors on the roster (despite the strong senior class from last season and the year before) that set an example for the young kids along the way. If the leadership situation gets fixed we’ll be fine

When judging Alice's offense you all also need to remember that the Alice QB rushed for somewhere around 700+ yards last season and he hasn't run at all these last 2 weeks. I'm sure Coach is keeping him safe and saving that for the regular season.
