They only beat South Lake Carroll by 7 last week. It is obvious you didn't watch the game. Desoto had 5 turnovers and still won the game. SLC absolutely SMOKED every team they played except top 10 Byron Nelson in district who they turned around and absolutely blasted in the regional finals 56-7! SLC was easily a top 10 team at the end of the year and more likely a top 5 the way they were playing yet Desoto beats them while having 5 turnovers. And if you watched the 6a D2 title game and have any doubt who the best team in the state is then I can't help you. How many turnovers? Oh yeah you said 5, twice. Maxpreps had 3 fumbles and 1 INT but they are often inaccurate on stats. Regardless turnovers are part of the game and are often forced. None of which has anything to do with my statement they only beat SLC by 7 the previous week.

They averaged over 55 in their four other playoff games and only gave up about 9 points per game. Also Graham Knowles hits Clayton Wayland again for a 12-yard TD — the second scoring connection betwixt the two — to pull the Dragons within a score with just over a minute left (45-38, DeSoto | 1:18) They were down 14 with 4 minutes left.

76 is a monster If he could lose 50-60 lbs of bad weight and get more mobile he will be highly recruited. A few years ago Steele had a kid that was carrying about 50 lbs too much weight. He went to work in the off-season after his junior year and lost that 'bad' weight. He got a full ride to Texas Tech and now is making $86m the next 5 seasons as a OT playing for the Cowboys. I was watching a short interview special a friend of mine did about that kid. She sent it to me because she was like "you're not gonna believe this kid." She did it to help him get recruited as a favor to the coach, since she worked up there covering sports. She now lives in Phoenix and covers the Diamondbacks and Cardinals full time. Anyway, the kid reminds me of Michael Oher as far as his size and potential at his age. He is also a good kid, and yeah he needs to cut some weight to save his life on the health side of things. As for what was on the interview and all, I was impressed with how he spoke, how he explained things, and if he truly works as hard as the video shows, he will make a great addition to a D1 college line. That will then lead to a great addition to a great addition to a NFL line.

OK, so if it was 4 they still be another top 5 state team in the playoffs while having all those turnovers and they are still the #1 team in the entire state in every poll. So if you think they are not the best in the state, who is? Or are you just looking for another argument?

FB fan was it you that mention living near red dot pier in a different thread? Sorry my current health has my memory forget recent things sometimes.
Do y'all get hit with the red/brown tide issues like the front side of the island or are you guys fairly protected from that nasty mess?
I hated when that stuff started showing up in Corpus when I was a kid. Ruined fishing spots all over the place.
You GP folks having any good winter fishing over there? Man I miss my old fishing spots.
I had to drive down to Austin for an appointment this last week, and we drove over Stillhouse mud puddle, formerly Stillhouse Lake, and that sucker is so dried up you could probably walk the entire thing.
Belton Lake still has some water in it, but man we need some water up here quick and in a hurry to fill these lakes back up!!! So we can have fishing spots back.

I give SLC credit, not only did they get DeSoto to commit turnovers, they did pull within 7 at the end. The only other team to even get within 14 I believe is Ducanville. So that says a lot. Even had the game stayed at 14 that's major props to SLC.
Now let's look at some other numbers though. DeSoto is a 5A playing up in 6A, which is scary as heck. 2100 kids compared to nearly 3000 in SLC. So a nearly 900 student advantage should give them an advantage, but it didn't.
DeSoto is easily the best team in the state of Texas. If they played Aledo, I think they beat Aledo 10 out of 10 times. Same with Duncanville. Same with PNG or SOC. Heck, SOC hasn't given them a game in 2 years yet. They've gotten smoked both years.
SLC played one heck of a semifinal game and left it all on the field. My hat goes off to them for the effort they gave and no one else this year can say they came within 7 points of DeSoto that's for sure!

Up here we have an invasive nuisance called the zebra mussel. That thing has over taken just about every fresh water body of water here... biologists have been able to go in with the dried up areas and scrape some of these nuisances out, but man these things are bad news!

Invasive species is a problem everywhere. Lion fish in salt water, carp, snakehead fish, zebra mussels, water lilies in fresh water, snakes in Florida, parakeets on our Corpus golf course. Flora and fauna nothing is staying put including people. To launch in some private lakes here your boat has to be inspected because of invasive species.

Yeah the game wardens here check you going in and coming out. You have to wash and dry and scrape your boat here... parakeets? Dang! When did those become an issue? Those dang lionfish are no joke! I have been watching videos of divers and commercial Fisherman trying to get rid of them... kindalike the daggum feral hog issues too.... they breed so dang fast!!!

And Summer Creek who they easily laid 74 on, is approaching 4k kids. I believe their number turned in was over 3800. I honestly think at the end of the year SLC was probably equal to both Duncanville and North Shore! If you look at what they did the last two games they played it says it all. Nelson was no joke and in the top 10 of every poll and in the top 5 of one or two of them and they absolutely demolished them!

All I know is I'm glad I'm not coaching against DeSoto lol... No matter what class they get put in, they're going to win it all...
