Huge congrats to PNG. What a ballgame!
And wow, Duncanville handled NS much easier than I thought they would and Desoto proved they were without a doubt the #1 team in Texas this year. I honestly think they could have come close to 100 had they not laid off the gas. OMG

Most were 16 points or larger and not really a contest late in the games. Hard to keep interested in games like those and Championships should be within single digits. I mean no offense to those that won. they did what they were supposed to do. But the rest need to step up their game.

It appears in most games the champion was just at a much higher level than the runner up. Sure, if some games were played again it would be closer but the outcomes would probably be the same. Duncanville, Desoto, and Aledo were without a doubt the 3 most dominant teams this year in their respective classifications

Heck in the country! Those cats can play ball... They are just at a level no one is at. The amount of young talent they have is scary too!

I made a separate thread….. Stepp tweeted or X’ed the attendance was the lowest since the series of championships began at AT&T.
.
Is it finally time for the UIL to reevaluate this whole thing?

YES!!!! people are tired of supporting the Jones family... You honestly think the Jonses are making money from the HS championship games? Who owns AT&T Stadium? The facility, owned by the city of Arlington, can also be used for a variety of other activities, such as concerts, basketball games, soccer, college and high-school football contests, rodeos, motocross, Spartan Races, and professional wrestling.

Jerry makes a cut out of every event hosted there. He might make significantly more with some events vs others, but he’s making enough to clear expenses and make some profit on it after the UIL gets its cut. He’s not listing the UIL championship week as a donation in kind on his corporate taxes.

The amount of young talent they have is scary too! They only beat South Lake Carroll by 7 last week. It is obvious you didn't watch the game. Desoto had 5 turnovers and still won the game. SLC absolutely SMOKED every team they played except top 10 Byron Nelson in district who they turned around and absolutely blasted in the regional finals 56-7! SLC was easily a top 10 team at the end of the year and more likely a top 5 the way they were playing yet Desoto beats them while having 5 turnovers. And if you watched the 6a D2 title game and have any doubt who the best team in the state is then I can't help you.

A few years ago Steele had a kid that was carrying about 50 lbs too much weight. He went to work in the off-season after his junior year and lost that 'bad' weight. He got a full ride to Texas Tech and now is making $86m the next 5 seasons as a OT playing for the Cowboys.
