That fumble at the 1/2 foot line by Franklin was a killer.

It's that time again the annual whineathon about having the SC games at AT&T which is the premier facility in Texas that players deserve and prefer. Never mind having them all in one place allows them to all be televised so the whole state can watch. Never mind when moved to Houston the crowds were far smaller than at AT&T. Never mind the distance argument was debunked when West Texas was included. But hey have a good cry AGAIN get it all out of your system. Pat, pat there, there. If and when your team gets there and has to play Aledo or another DFW team that is 30 minutes or less away, then you might understand the difference! If my HS played there they would have a 17.6 mile drive while Aledo would drive 33 miles. If FB plays for a SC I want them to play in the premier stadium in the state that has proven to attract the largest crowds.

Malakoff 14 Franklin 7 Final Now that's a heck of a game! Both teams had great defenses and great offenses going into the game. Keeping it low scoring shows how great their defenses really really are!!

OK We'll see if you feel that way if FB gets to teh finals and has to travel 6+ hours there and they meet up with Aledo or another DFW area team that travels 30 minutes there. It is an advantage they have, especially when they've played there many times before. I don't care what coaching the kids have if they've never played their they will have deer in the headlights looks walking out onto that field. If my team gets to the title game again, I want them to have each and every advantage possible to have a better shot at winning it because in the end that title means a hell of a lot more than where the game was played!

Not to mention the whole Wednesday-Saturday schedule... so now you have a 6+ hour drive leaving a day early playing on a Wednesday so you leave on a Monday. Do some kind of of simulated practice either in the hotel conference room or parking lot, or maybe you got lucky and got a place to get a small practice in. Then your kids sleep in hotel beds, the next day you get a basic walk through. All the while your local opponent is at school full 2 days of practice, normal schedule, normal routine, no adjustment to their schedule at all except the game is earlier in the week. Yet no advantage to them at all... yeah right!!!

Yet no advantage to them at all... yeah right!!! Please. There are hundreds of practice facilities in DFW. If you can't arrange for your team to use one through coaches network you suck as a coach. Being away from home and distractions (read family, friends and girls) you should have your teams undivided attention 24/7 for game prep again if you don't it's your and your staff's failure.

No waiting required I already told you my opinion and you've stated yours...annually. Likewise Yep I'm consistently not bitching about the way the championship games are scheduled or the venue.
