5A D2 Region 4 Championship (State Quarterfinals)
SA Pieper vs. Liberty Hill Friday December 1st @ 7 PM Bobcat Stadium San Marcos
Who will win this rematch? Pieper controlled the earlier game. Liberty Hill seems to be picking up a stronger Defense.

I took Pieper by 14 but I don't think it'll be 14 but I don't think it'll be a last second score either. Though I do believe LH has improved since their first meeting, I also think Pieper has as well to.
That first game was NOT nearly as close as the score said it was at 33-23. Pieper led at half 12-10 which could have been 14 for Pieper if not for their coach continually going for 2 instead of kicking PATs! And 7 of the 10 LH had was on a pick 6 which was definitely forced by LH but still a big time mistake by Pieper. That pic 6 was on a 4th & 13 from the LH 28 yd line with Pieper driving on them again. It was a nearly 80 yd pic 6!
It was 33-10 Pieper after 3 quarters. At halftime LH had less than 50 yards rushing on 19 carries. After 3 quarters LH had barely over 50 yards rushing on 34 attempts and 0 yards passing on 6 attemps. Pieper completely dominated 1st 3 quarters and LH scored their first offensive TD with 5:31 left in the game to make it 33-16.
Finals total yards was 379 to 178.
I think this game ends up somewhere about 31-21 Pieper

Has anyone heard about the health of Pieper QB Jake South after he limped off the field very late last week? IF he can't go, then the other Jake....Jake Strachan will be taking the reins as the backup QB for Pieper. Strachan is also one of the main receivers for Pieper....so IF he is behind center this week directing the offense, then that will limit Pieper even more if South can't go. I read where South sustained season-ending injuries the two previous seasons, and now this is his senior season. He transferred over from Smithson Valley last season in Pieper's first year. I sure hope he's good to go....it would be very unfortunate for him to miss out on this big game and/or the rest of this season too. He has fantastic numbers throwing the ball this season for Pieper....295/473 for 3940 yds. with a .624 completion% giving up 7 interceptions in 13 games played. His QB rating is 115.7 for the season....not too shabby at all.

He’s been in a boot earlier this year but still played on Friday night. Even if he doesn’t play, Jake Strachan has played as QB several quarters this season. Pieper has a very deep bench. Last week four different receivers carried the ball to the end zone. They can also run the ball when they have to. Plus their undefeated JV players have been on the field - even during playoffs. So even in a worst case scenario with WR (Doss) and QB (South) out, they still stand a chance.

Haven't heard anything on South yet but I will say this, that was a cheap shot and should have been a 15 yard penalty on AH for it and it wasn't! Not at all surprised though as I did not think the game was officiated very well at all and the calls definitely went AH way a lot more often than not. Shocking huh?! SMDH If South cannot go LH will win IMO. Not so much that the other Jake is not a good QB because he is, but that he would not be at WR and he is damn good and catches everything thrown at him. More than that when he is opposite of #19 it allows that stud to get himself into more open holes for big plays as well.

But if South is not at QB and the other Jake is, it HURTS. Sorry, but Pieper is not that deep that it wouldn't hurt. South is damn good back there and if Strachan is at QB is takes a big time weapon away down the field for Pieper and makes the defenses work much, much easier especially when it comes to getting help on #19!

FB would like another shot at them. Looks like the Pieper/LH game is indeed going to be aired on Pieper's youtube. I just tuned in and they have a live camera on the field. Looks like I will be watching at least 3 games at the same time. I'm a little pissed that NFHS dings you when you pull up 2 games at the same time. I don't get it at all. You pay for the damn yearly pass you should be able to watch as many games at the same time as you want to
