There's a difference between a good athlete and a good football player. Miller has good athletes but I still say not as good as people assume. Being fast doesn't make you a great football player. I also think that Miller committed some tactical errors, like onside kicking 3 times, when they had what I thought an advantage on special teams. They could have pinned BVM deep and really made the first half miscues hurt. Execution mishaps - Miller blew a hole in their collective foot by committing 2 4th quarter turnovers (and the errant punt snap). A slot-T offense with a dwindling clock does not want to have to drive the entire field to score. Those short fields really hurt Miller what you said is true but it's what Miller has always done. It wasn't new to this game. They onside when they don't have to and go for it on 4th down when they don't have to. It's who Miller is.

Yup And he had Miller getting at least 35 against SV next round. ROFLMAO He either hasn't watched any of SV or R3 or is simply that blind to the difference in play on the field. I watched both the R4 and the R3 games tonight and it is day and night difference in the speed of the game. It isn't even close. SV next week 42 - 21.......at least one of BVM's scores comes very late after the game is over. I haven’t been on here in a while, but I see CC Warcat hasn’t learned that football programs in R3 are typically better than our R4 5A programs. That’s not a knock on my R4 it’s just the truth and when Wagner moved up a few years ago it sorta allowed decent programs to have a shot. Trust me I remember Wagner very well my son played against them twice in which we got blasted his 1st year and nearly beat them the second time around. I say blasted the 1st time but it wasn’t nearly the stompin CCwarcats Vets got against them at Buc Stadium. I think Wagner hung 70 on them and they beat my Hornets by 3 that season.

Miller sure was exciting to watch this year. Luckily they have lots coming back from this team next year.
As far as this game, heartbreaker!

They returned 17 starters this season. 18 last season. According to a Facebook fan another 18 starters next season. Lol how is that even possible?.

My comment was just based on when I went to watch them play East. I was looking up some key players on Hudl and they were Sophomores and Juniors.

Lol we’ve been saying that for the last few years ourselves! However I think most of their skill guys are juniors. They should make a good run again next year. That running back is fun to watch.

Both those RBs are fun to watch, and they will both be back! Edit: and they have a sophomore that is pretty darn good as well!

Hell one year in 8th grade we played Columbus and they had a RB that was as wide as he was tall. The dude was killing us and it took a minimum 3 of us to bring him down. One play I hit that dude and brought him down and his helmet popped off, Daym the dude had a full blown mustache. The kid was a twin to Robert Newhouse.

Evans has been the HC at Miller for many years now and every year they have made deep runs in the playoffs. After looking at this seasons results they typically score 50-60 pts per game which it great . What is not great is the number of points Miller gives up in games. I’ve heard Evans is trying to improve his defense but the points allowed shows ,he must make a more serious changes to his staff to get his defense where it needs to be. Last night after watching the game you could see the BVM defense was putting the pressure on Miller and their passing game suffered greatly. They just about made them one dimensional. If Miller wants to win the region and go further they must get much better on defense. A philosophy of simply out scoring opponents works normally in early rounds, but it just won’t work in a region championship game and beyond. Maybe Miller just isn't as loaded with talent every year like what for some reason is always assumed. They almost lost to Victoria West both times and West got blown out by 5 other programs this season. Could be Miller might have been slightly less talented as years past. Still to play in the reg final you have to have enough talent to get to that game. In 1st half Miller was in control of the game and should have won that game except of their defense. The BVM coaches just flat out made some adjustments and went to work attacking the weak spots on the Miller defense and just came back and out scored Miller. The BVM defense pretty much closed down the passing game for Miller. Rodrick did his best running the ball but when they had Long down to only 2 out of seven pass attempts they had sealed the deal on a Miller comeback. That last interception just killed Miller and breathed new life in BVM. I fully expected them to drive it down and kick a field goal. BVM RB had a different plan and scored on that tough run. Miller with a more solid defense should have won that game.

What really surprised me was that Bro Vets had dudes in the backfield on pass plays and dudes right at the LOS on run plays… even though they were MUCH small than the Miller O Line.
With play like that on defense, they could have a shot.
