That RB #21 is legit as I’ve ever seen in R4. And he’s only a sophomore. He was a stud last season too. What’s even more impressive as a whole is that stingy, mean, hard-hitting defense! 21 is a good fullback style kid. A product of that offense for sure. He will have trouble with a real run defense. 24 is not going to outrun a fast edge player or a disciplined edge player that plays technique. He got stopped in the backfield several times by East. 3 if he's the qb everyone raved about being D1, is NOT a D1 QB! He does not have the arm, size, or the speed for D1. He is good and made good decisions with the ball, so don't misunderstand my statement. He's definitely a solid D2 QB with his decision making. The Oline did have a couple of big strong kids on it at tackle, and they did seem strong overall. The Dline seemed strong too. I didn't think they were gigantic from the video, but hearing comments from those that were there they must have been at least 6' tall. Overall, like I said in another post they are the best Valley team I have seen play. Just not the best team this year in 5A D1 by a long shot that I have seen play. There are multiple teams in R3 and R2 that I have watched that are better. Some of those teams are out of the playoffs already. Which should scare the living daylights out of you! That means they played a team even BETTER! Like Clem has suggested go watch a video of CS, SV, CP, Fulshear, LV, Reedy, Lancaster, Consol., Aledo.. Just to name a few... MOST of those guys will be out of the playoffs before the end, one is out now... It's tough to be elite, and North is not at that level. They are very good, but when you see elite in these other teams' videos you will know. It's a shame that their admin will not let them travel for non district to get exposure to elite programs so they can become elite. That's exactly what these other schools do and have done. Honestly the better the state gets, the more exciting every game in the season gets. Then the more exciting playoffs get!!!! You truly would have more 5-5 and 4-6 teams worthy of playoffs because every district would be a gauntlet!!! But until every admin gets on board and fixes their attitude toward making athletics worth caring about in addition to academics not, "it has to be one or the other", nobody wins. They'd also have to care about each school in their district equally as well... no more favorites either. I disagree about #21. That dude will be a dude no matter who the defense is. And he's not a full back, he's a tail back. Dude knows his line is big and bad... calmly waits for the block, then turns on the jets. He's not barn burning fast... but plenty fast for a running back. And man, he runs hard... does not go down easy... you gotta bring him all the way down to the ground every time. I personally see him getting a scholarship somewhere, and being the man for that team... possibly even a G5 school.

As for R4 backs go all time if that's what you're referring to, I've definitely seen better, played against better, and coached better. Calallen has had to many to list individually. Alice has had several. Malcolm Brown from Steele! Spencer Chaisson from Beeville. PLC has had many. FB has had many. Liberty Hill has had several. San Marcos has had quite a few. Those are just off the top of my head without even trying. He may be a sophomore but he's not even at the level of Wes Danaher as a sophomore, who was no where close to Malcolm Brown as a sophomore...

This game went about as I expected.Hopefully the Raiders will get their leading rusher ( Montez) back for the next round against Brownsville Vets. His absence definitely makes a difference ,the offense will be even better when he returns, lessens the work load for Guerra ,Aparicio,& Fuentes.Defense dominated once again, don’t think East even had 100 yds of offense.Raiders against Brownsville Vets. Friday @4:00 pm. at beautiful PSJA stadium.

# 21 is the back up running back the starter is hurt may be back next week. Apricio is the QB he got offer from UTRGV but there is a QB from Laredo that iss taller and a better passer that also gott offer and accepted. I do not know what the offers were but a lot off the offes UTRGV has been giving have been prefered walk on but there is nothing on anything like full rides that many D1 programs give I am suree the info is somewwheree but has not been put out as far as I can tell

They have some guys deserving of a look at D2 for sure. They even have some really good D3 kids on that team. I didn't see any D1 super stars though to be honest. I hope those young men get to go to the next level and play because they are deserving. Those tackles would be a nice addition to UMHB given that they are needing some linemen. It's D3, but they get big time press up here.

Not only were the fans fun and friendly to us, but the food was good back then too. It was a nice stadium too. Good luck Raiders. Enjoy the home game, have a safe Thanksgiving too!

My guess is off season and summer weights on top of a hefty diet for the Dline and Oline. For the skill kids I'd guess summer and off season weights, good protein diet, possibly keto diet too. Maybe v-shred workouts too. I'd also venture to say they have a healthy dose of powerlifting participation and track and field participation. If it's beyond that, that gets into dangerous territory, and shouldn't be discussed on forums like this. Just rumors alone can ruin a coach. Watching the game, that's not what's going on there.

I feel ya! It's just something that has been missing in Victoria for many years. Size! I'm hoping Coach Reeve can change that, I know they had one heck of an off season program at Cuero when him and his brother were there. I think he actually hired a strength and conditioning coach this year as well. Maybe that will help .. .. It's just one thing that stuck out to me like a sore thumb in this game. Size!!!!!!

I personally was not surprised, but there was some chatter and doubt about North going into this one Eight voters had Vic East winning.
