Prosper ISD is proposing to build a new 8000 seat stadium as part of a 2.4 billion bond package on November 7. That new stadium is part of an athletic portion of the bond of 104 million and the stadium will cost 94 million which is 14 million more than the current most expensive Cy Fair stadium at 80 million.

This is exactly why bond votes have to be broken into parts. One for academic and athletic venues under a certain threshold. And the other for stadiums and other venues with large seating capacity. However I don't expect this law to last very much longer if all the sudden the suburban schools who are engaged in the stadium race start losing on the separate ballots. They will get their legislators to change the law back to what it was.

Unbelievable... Also, I need to start a stadium building company. Yep... If I could find a De Lorean with Flux capacitor and go back to around Y2K I might do the same thing.

Only 8000 capacity for that much $$$ LISD built CP & CP Vista Ridge’s stadium with 10,500 and retro fit Leander & Rouse’s Stadium to hold close to that! Vandy was built with one side 5,250 and the visitor side to only hold around 3,000! All stadiums were significantly less than that!!!

It doesn’t make sense to me, their current stadium holds 12,000, why build a smaller 8000 stadium?

This stadium will be built at Prosper Richland HS (#4). It will serve as Prosper ISD's track facility, similar to what Denton ISD did with Carrico Stadium at Braswell High School.
Not sure why the seating is lower, but I suspect it is due to being the secondary stadium. Denton's Collins has a capacity of 12000, but Carrico's is 7000. Prosper's Children's Health has a capacity of 12000 and this capacity will be 8000. Pretty decent comparison in my mind.
