The Tigers will be losing a pretty stacked senior class, but gaining a pretty stacked freshman team moving into its sophomore year. I’m not too sure what this will mean for the 2023 season, but I’m hoping it’s at least a stalemate with the 2022 season.
Here’s a Carroll freshman squatting 500 today. That’s a good sign.

Are they keeping their coaches? That staff surprised me with how they got those boys playing better football. I did not expect the results they were able to achieve there.
If that staff remains, I can see next season being better than this past season even with losing that senior class. I say that because the team will have yet another year of growth with the program, and kids that were not as gifted will be stronger and faster, and the younger kids with talent will be able to fill in better. As much as I dispise ccisd as a whole, I do want to see Carroll return to its once proud glory. Like I have said before, the more good and great football that is played by all teams, the better everyone is for it.
As a whole, good/great teams in areas with bad football all around suffer from it... the reason so many titles are won in the Dallas area or even in region 3 is because they are surrounded by good/great football all around. It makes them ready to walk through everyone else. As is stated: "as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Those teams put each other through the fire and they sharpen each other big time.

They posted a 2nd kid joining the 500 squat club yesterday also. That one is a junior. I am impressed with Coach Neatherlin and the buy in he’s been able to achieve. Hopefully that influence spreads throughout the school. I have a close friend that’s a CCISD police officer… and he tells me Carroll is by far the worst school in the City as far as call ins go. They’ve been called in several times over the past few months for fights/guns/knives/etc. He says it’s bad and it’s a shame because the school itself is amazing. I believe it’s possible for the student athletes to take control of that school and lead by example. We have no need for that type of hood azz BS going on. The student body as a whole needs to check itself and do better.

Used to be the Country Club area and everything between Saratoga and SPID was where all the "new" money people lived in Corpus vs the "old" money people who still live on Ocean Drive and Hewitt Park and go to Ray (or Private). Vets and London is where the new money goes who chose to want to on the southside or close to in Corpus.

I'm glad Coach Neatherlin is winning people over...I know when he got hired there were many questioning his credentials.....so far I think he's proven to be more than capable of getting it done

Unless they want to also send their kids to a A rated school then they buy in the new Flour Bluff additions.

Digging a little further, I found some good news for those wanting to see Carrol flourish.
Yes it’s currently bad, but it’s not widespread in the student body. There are only a few dozen bad seeds roaming the halls…. These kids show up to school to party, smoke weed, cause havoc, fight, etc… don’t learn, don’t care to learn, don’t do any work, etc… real knuckleheads.
The solution is simple… let them be themselves… bust them, expel them, and ban them from ever coming back. Send them to the alternative high school/juvie school/whatever it’s called, and be rid of them. Basically, just take the trash out and watch the school soar.
From what I understand, the vast majority of the kids have gained a sense of pride in themselves and in their school. They want the hood rats removed.

Waiting for adults to pull the trigger in this day and age is the frustrating part. Everyone is afraid of getting sued or the media (especially social) coming down hard on them for lack of compassion. You know... They go to interview a perp's parent and the first thing that comes out her mouth is her mijo couldn't do such a thing. He's a good boy.... Never mind he was caught on tape beating up a kid.

You think the Edgars give a F about what the athletes do or say? Lol. Hell half the athletes themselves are Edgars now cuh. It starts at home and only there. Kids that don't fear or respect their parents aren't going to give a chit about school authority. I was a good boy in school because I respected and feared consequences from my parents not from the student body or staff.

I'm glad Coach Neatherlin is winning people over...I know when he got hired there were many questioning his credentials.....so far I think he's proven to be more than capable of getting it done His credentials weren't anything special that's why they were being questioned. I hope he does turn it around but like I said before that program was going to have some wins this last season even if the previous coach had stayed because they were bringing back a good senior class. I'm just saying the jury is still out on judging the coaching situation at Carroll.

I hear their athletes tend to be protected quite a bit.

And Pico hit the nail square on the head with is statement about parents doing what they do and why these kids act the way they do! Also, ccwarcat I totally agree with you that it is a very, very small percentage that are thugs and that is the case anywhere that problem exists. Even in the big cities where you have 'bad' areas of town. Most of those folks in those areas are great people but a small percentage make life hard on all of em.

Here in Corpus it's overrun by thugs. My car was stolen 2 days ago. Found yesterday. A witness saw 4 "Edgars" dumping it after probably committing crimes in it. Corpus is overrun by Edgars way more than whatever the average is in any given city.
