Game: Friday 12/9 - Alamodome Hard not to feel good about Boerne’s chances in this one. Chapel Hill will have some good speed on the field so they may limit the yards after the catch from the Boerne receivers. Boerne defense will probably get tested early by the speed. 35-21 Boerne.

If Chapel Hill has more speed on offense than Calallen and along with that can run the ball with that speed, Boerne may have a problem and this game could be one of those high scoring games. If there was one bright spot in what was otherwise a dismal and disappointing performance the other night is Calallen did run the ball well against Boerne. Why we went to the pass game early when we were getting five to ten yards per carry , I don’t know ?

I think Boerne is going to score at will. Chapel Hill has given up tons of points this year. Only question is, can they keep pace?
This has a chance to be some sort of wild 55-49 kind of game. Should be fun. But I think Boerne gets their stops and pulls away.

Boerne is very good, really good size, but they lack speed, and that will be their downfall. If not next week, definitely against China Spring. I don't know much about Chapell Hill.

I’m not sure how to call this one. If Boerne puts a game together like they did this weekend they’ve got a good shot at winning. Yes they may not be the fastest team out there but i think they’ve got enough to do the job. The receivers are tall, run great routes and catch just about anything thrown their way. That offense has confused defenses all season. They are susceptible to the run but they do come pretty hard on defense, this is not a soft team at all. As a R3 champ Chapel Hill will be tough and will have speed. Might be an offensive shootout. I’ll root for Boerne although I’m eating some nasty crow while doing this.

LT's 5 in a row 4a title teams beat many, MANY 'faster teams' then they were. I like Boerne's chance here in this game if they don't handle the big win last week like their state title game. That will remain to be seen Friday. I think if Boerne celebrated Saturday and went back to work Sunday then they will beat CH in a close game. Neither of these teams will China Springs in the finals. CS is way, way too strong.

Just about everybody has Chapel Hill picked to move on based on the speed aspect. It’s been that way since I lived closer to all that speed: most south Texas programs are big and the best ones are disciplined and have a little speed, but the Northeast and East Texas teams will kill them with speed. Unfortunately, more often than not they are usually correct. I know Boerne has speed because I have seen them, and as long as they can keep CH between the tackles they can get some stops. If CH seals the edge with either the QB or RB1 toting it, Boerne will be playing catch up.

Yup I do agree a lot with what you are saying and heard it a bunch from those folks in especially R3 when LT was making a run to the title 5 years in a row. LT made those 'speed teams' look slow on the field and I'm certain I never once saw an LT sprinter win the region in the 100, 200, or sprint relays. Speed is deadly but so is being coached up and making the right reads and taking proper angles.
