I feel like the idea of the Robstown coach isn't being talked about enough. They averaged 32 points a game and they bring back 20 starters in 2023 so that says they did that with youth so imagine what kind of season they are going to have in 2023 with 20 starters coming back. Forget about the w/l record. They are still Robstown and in a tough district. And also the energy that coach and his staff took to Robstown. They gave energy to an entire community and regardless of wins and losses nobody looks at Robstown as some loser program anymore.

After reading even more about the shady crap going on there I have to ask myself, who in their right mind would want this damn job.......much less what 50 people want it! I just don't see how any established head coach/AD would even look at it much less apply. So, I think the best hope is to find a diamond in the rough with a young OC or DC. I person will put up with a lot of distractions and bullchit if the money is really, really good (in any occupation) but I don't think this is the case here with this position. All that crap aside it's still a place where a good coach can win with the talent Alice has. I think most coaches probably have big egos and anyone with a big ego is going to think they can be the one to change the culture of a program regardless of the behind the scenes crap we hear about. No argument here on this at all. Alice still has plenty of talent to be a very, very good 4a team for sure

I was never a fan of lining up for a play then checking to the sidelines for the call. Even though Rockport and PLC ran different offenses, they both ran up the the line and before the defense had time to adjust, the ball was hiked. I feel Alice has the right personnel for that type of offense. I'm a correct in thinking the potential starting QB is more of a runner than passer? I hate it. I understand the logic (or what I think is the logic behind it) when coaches first started doing it but not anymore. The defense knows you're waiting for them to line up so you can call a play based on what the defense is showing and so the defensive coaches I'm sure are also adjusting or disguising what they're really going to run before the offense calls in the play. Bring huddles back. I like players being able to communicate with each other in the huddle. Teach your QB to audible at the line and have plays for it. Coach Whatley did that with us way back in 1991 and there's no reason everyone can't be doing it already.

I've got my conspiracy brain working and I have wild thoughts. What if... the mystery assistant from a local powerhouse who played quarterback is Adrian Alaniz. Now here me out. He's made a name for himself as a baseball coach but here's his chance to be a football coach and AD. Alice isn't exactly in rebuilding mode so a playoff appearance in year one isn't far fetched. I could be way off but it one name that came to mind.

ZERO chance of Adrian Alaniz going to Alice. If he ever leaves Sinton, it'll be to coach at UT. I'm not a huge fan of Perry, he has shown the ability to score points but they struggled horribly in a district that wasn't as strong as they've been in the past. He hasn't been able to field any subvarsity teams while at Robstown, which means his teams have been pretty young at Robstown. Maybe I'm wrong, but as a fan I would like someone that's had some more success.

Perry is young, shown promise as a really good coordinator at Victoria West...I can tell you he's someone that is going to be a fast riser in the coaching ranks..he's well thought of at a statewide level

His name was being tossed around last year after UT parted ways with their pitching coach. I wouldn't doubt if something opens up their in Austin after this season, he might take it if offered.

I like Perry for some of the things Cochina has mentioned, dude brings a lot of excitement and energy. There's no doubt he would have more success in Alice than he's had in Robstown because of the type of program but I'd still like someone more seasoned.
