Exactly. Didn’t make sense to me either and when I questioned it, i was given the runaround. I know that when Boswell left Coach Alvarado, the baseball coach was interested in asst. AD position. He was talked out of it basically. Also he would not have been allowed to coach baseball as assistant AD/girls coordinator. There may also be a possible shake up with the coaching staff I was told, depending on what happens with the AD/HC situation. I don’t know why that was insinuated. It was also mentioned that the baseball coach is once again interested in an administrative position. The powers that be are split on cleaning house within the football program. That I can confirm. I'm hearing coaches on the current staff are not even applying because of the micromanaging basically but you say some board members want to hire from within so I don't know. But that's the latest I heard. This is true too. One coach currently on staff very recently declined when approached about the opportunity. And the suggestion was made to hire from within, but that doesn’t mean they will or that they’ll go that route. I know of one coach not from here that backed out because of the issues at the top. It’s a crazy situation all around.

everyone wants someone to be a longer term coach here but if the board is that bad in micromanaging all we will get is coaches using alice as a stepping stone to get the experience and move on. looks like the board is gonna have to make alot of big promises to get someone good.

I don't think this a coincidence IMO but I just saw that the school district postponed there meeting that was scheduled for tonight to next Monday. I hope to God this school board doesn't screw it up on the next AD and superintendent if those rumors are true. This decision will be either a major step forward or a major step back. Unfortunately I feel those idiots will get it wrong again 😠😠😠 Several directors and a couple of board members are unavailable and cannot attend tonight’s meeting which is why it was postponed

People need to use their social media to call out the b.s. if they want change - or obviously the board meetings. I don't think I'd be allowed if I showed up lol. I've been hammering the board on my STXB page for some time now, but especially now. I get lots of ugly looks when I attend an Alice game over the past few years lol but I'm ok with it.

It’s possible to transform from within. I wouldn’t do it in this situation, but it’s possible. Personally, I believe there is some sort of black cloud over Alice football that can only be erased by someone who is not from Alice or anywhere near South Texas. The Alice mindset ain’t right, as a whole. I don’t know how or what happened, but it exists in my humble opinion. Gotta fix the mindset and create a “team first/school first/community first/everything Coyote first/one heart” attitude throughout the entire sports system. Here’s the thing with that now I get what you’re saying. But it starts at the top. You got a few trustees that get re-elected by the same people every election. They play Mr. Nice guy during their campaign and forget about these hard working families when they’re back in. You got one in a certain precinct that gets re-elected because he’s unopposed every time. He comes from a precinct that’s lower to middle class and nobody gonna step up to run against him, that and because of his occupation. He and two other trustees are at the beckon call of the baseball coach. The coach has been quoted as saying “all I gotta do I say the word and I get what I want, you gotta know the right people”. And the man ain’t lying, as long as certain board members are in office he’s good. The same trustees are out drinking and partying with him and other coaches and parents, it ain’t never gonna change. So the citizens see how crooked everything is within the system and it angers the community. You can’t promise one thing and do another. These people are only in it for themselves and it has shown for years. Ain’t no way you gonna get the community to buy in to anything. The trustees are usually split and at each others throats 90% of the time. Some for athletics some for academics. It’s a heck of a lot a me over we with the dudes in charge of making decisions for this struggling school district. I speak the truth and nothing but facts. I see it day in and day out being close to the situation and in social settings where some parents are also in the mix. Alice needs someone that will stand up to some of these clowns and won’t allow them to micromanage every aspect of the athletic programs. Just my opinion, but this is the reason I think Alice will never get deeper into the playoffs than their talent will get them. No support, no collective heart, no “bigger than me” attitude. In those late round games, it takes support the whole team… players that can come off the sidelines and ball/spell other players… role players, scout team players … kids that want to win and enthusiastically encourage the team from the sidelines whether they get in the game or not. Families in the stands that are good with the W even if their sophomore (or sometimes junior kid) isn’t getting the playing time on Friday’s. Parents that aren’t poisoning their kid with their negative thoughts about everything that isn’t perfect for their kids on the team… a community that isn’t divided about everything. All that stuff at home/in town creeps into the team. The fix? No magic wand… but “just win baby” goes a long way. Consistent coaching towards excellence and telling the kids to just shut their parents down when they start with their schit… even correcting them if they’re wrong. It’s not unreasonable to think that with the right coaching and wins, the Coyote football team could change the town to be more cohesive than I think it’s been in decades. Too many people schitting on each other about everything in Atown.

Dear AISD School Board, Alice is 26-25 in the last 5 seasons with 3 of those seasons being LOSING seasons. You DO NOT hire from within when that is what you have been working with. I have no idea who has applied from the current staff and no offense to any of them but it's NOT their time yet. Alice needs a complete overhaul and spark and that's not going to come from being lazy with your hiring practices. Stop worrying about making your friends happy and do what is right for the program's future. Love, Sergio BINGO!

The leadership is there, the talent, the focus, and the discipline with these upcoming classes. You are on the outside, I’m on the other side of it. I see it and know what is going on, I’m there. If they’d get the crap together at the top then we would not be having this conversation, and we can concentrate on playing some football.

You make nice looking little comments that seem intelligent enough but they're almost always based on nothing but stuff you either see in movies or made up in your head. Edit: and just because the fanbase voices it's opinions in here doesn't mean they don't support the team or any of the other nonsense your spewing.

One can get a pretty good feel for any town/team as a whole by reading this board. It’s not like everyone on here is psychotic one way or the other. There’s enough of all kinds on here to get a pulse of each program. Alice has been a dumpster fire on here for years.

If you want to judge 17k people based on maybe 8 Alice people in here then that's a you problem.

It's one thing to tell a Coach, "Hey we can't get rid of everyone, you've got to keep 6 guys" etc....the new coach can come in and evaluate the staff, keep the six coaches he feels best fit what he wants to do and put them in the roles he wants. But when you tell a guy "you gotta keep this guy in this role" you really run into trouble...you hire a HFC/AD to do a job, let that coach do his job and bring in the people who he thinks gives the team the best chance to win
