Ok you Yotes wanted Attwood out and he’s gone. So what the game plan? Who’s going to pressure the administration to open up the check book and go out and hire the next HC at Alice? Anyone who really expects the admin and school board to deviate from the same process the produced attwood a few years ago is still there. With tax revenue down from the lack of oil & gas activity right now could determine just how much they can offer a top notch HC. We all have watched and listened to you Yote fans for years Biotch at just about every coach that walked into Alice. So what are you Yote fans doing to change the mindset of those who will select the next HC at Alice? Hell No! The man wanted out for a while. Before they go on from the man, I’m not sure what applicants are gonna apply or what their plans are & at the same bill the previous coach inherit the talent from Soza (3 we’re sophomores) & Evans since then his production was “Jekyll & Hyde” due to players quitting, poor player evaluations, lack of discipline, driving the fan base away & poor coaching etiquettes. I know Alice has been on the down but the community deserve more. When did the Alice faithful or the guys on the forum ever bleeped & complained about the Alice coaches we’ve hired??Boyd .. No! Bush .. No! Davis .. No! Soza .. No! Whatley from the 90’s .. Hell No! I don’t count Herring, or Evans at all. The Coach Clark as HC situation wasn’t his fault. Did y’all bleep & complain with the G-P hires after the Ex-Alice HC left G-P from Loomis to Anastacio before y’all hired another Ex-Alice HC?? I’d love to hear the responses. As for the mindset on who the next Alice coach is … We’ll have to find out tbh. I have some names that’ll step up & lead the Alice squad but discipline will be top priority! javy2005 Coach brent Davis also a ex coach from El Campo, Fort Bend Kempner, Crowley, Cuero, Banquete, Sinton, and Lewisville. Coach Davis spent his first two years of high school at Corpus Christi Calallen before moving to Wolfforth Frenship, where he quarterbacked the team to a district title his senior year.

I'll raise my hand to call BS.
Alice has hated on every single coach that has been hired since Van Tom Whatley left. Don't believe me? I bet you can find a detailed history of Alice coaching hate on this very forum.
Van Tom was the last dude Alice truly embraced.

A fair question to you Yote fans. How many of you think that the hiring of a head coach by himself without hiring his own staff will really make that much change? It just doesn’t make much sense to hire a HC and not at least bring in a new OC & DC. Who said nobody was coming with the new HC?. That's a G-P fan thing to claim your coaches never get to bring anyone with them.

Soza was treated well on this forum at the time, but many of the Alice peeps on here did note that some of the armchair (pit) QBs in Alice didn't like him and of course there was the incident where he told some players to pound sand and they ended uo at Ben Bolt.

In other HC news... A current Coastal Bend HC is a Finalist for the Richmond Foster job. Anyone know who? My guess would be Bitner. Him, Davis and Evans are basically the only ones with a resume I could imagine being a Foster Finalist and it isn't Evans. Bitner's success is inherited but still to an outsider on paper his resume might look good. Davis I can't imagine leaving G-P after only 2 seasons.

Most of the people in Alice liked Soza. The big problem was mostly internal and a few influential people that wanted him gone. It was a big mistake to fire him. I can't see a good AD coming to Alice after that and especially with our current superintendent and school board.

I think maybe enough time has passed now that potential applicants don't think about the Soza situation. Should be lots of legit candidates.

I understand no good AD will want to come to Alice based on how Soza was treated here …eventually some good coaches will want to apply … the question is when ? I don’t think AISD has done enough to repair its image thou but like chino said enough time has passed …it’ll be interesting to see the quality of the candidates that apply

Someone that wants to be a HC isn't going to let something from 8 years ago that happened to someone they probably don't even know effect their decision to apply at this point.

He was the Assistant HC and Special teams coach at Richmond Foster when he came to King so he has ties and connections there.

No it's not the same superintendent, Scarborough is even worse than the previous one. School board isn't much better. There's a couple of good board members, but that's it.

Having been fairly close to the situation back then… it was about 50/50 throughout the town. Half loved him, half thought the offense wasn’t as productive as before he came… and wanted him gone… right off the bat. Eventually, the negative half won. Sitting in the stands, it sucked hearing all the talk. A team NEEDS buy-in… 100%. If you can’t get 100%… it’s gotta be at 90% minimum. Real success can’t exist with anything less.
