Do the football players get to go football in the middle of a band competition? Stop it lol. The band already gets enough play time in games. And I'd like to add, please stop doing that Florida State Seminole chant. We are the Coyotes not the Braves or Seminoles. We should come up with our own thing. A thing that makes sense. Sorry Cochino, I’m gonna have to stop you right there. A lot of people associated with the district read this forum but just dont comment on here themselves. One thing I always hear is “he’s still at it” haha. I don’t know if you’re just not big on supporting the band, but part of our mission here at AISD is to promote unity and school spirit. For years, our district recognizes Band, the dance team, cheer, and JROTC as part of the whole Alice and FNL experience. They all support one another, and for years, the players gather to support the band at a band competition every year. On homecoming, the players stay on the field or track to support the band during their post game performance which showcases their contest show. The band is very much part of the program. We don’t just celebrate them during halftime. The Alice band is an elite program, well respected throughout the state and tradition runs deep. Just visit the band hall. They are hard at work starting in July and that continues throughout the school year. Mr Perez and Coach Castellano work very well together and the support and respect is unmatched. The players have their favorite band chants and bleacher tunes and request them often from the band. In clouding that FSU chant. They acknowledge them at pep rallies and thank them for their hard work and support often. I do respect you and your work, but I feel like sometimes you tend to push it too much and cross that line haha. You are entitled to your opinions though. The majority of this community does not share your view of the band, but they also understand their purpose is so much more and runs much deeper than playing the fight song and school don’t on Friday Nights. |

The band has HALFTIME to be featured. So the fight song after a score or big play isn't important to you? Drum line? Sorry, but the loud blaring music to me is NOT part of the HSFB experience in any way and never will be. You are not that much younger than I am but we live in different worlds I guess Be careful Clem. You’re getting very close to the get off my yard crowd |

I made a comment about the music that plays on the T-M scoreboard and got attacked as if I was saying the band should be abolished and from there the nonsense grew. I graduated with and played football with Emerico Perez so I'm obviously fully supportive of him and the band and I know about the Alice band history and all it's achieved. It's not my fault that people in here took a comment about liking the music T-M was playing on the scoreboard and made it into me not wanting the band to play at all. That's your alls faults for twisting my original words not mine. And I'm sorry but I stand behind my opinion that the FSU chant should be for schools with mascots that have something to do with that. |
