The Aggie in you wants to give the Tech fan the benefit of the doubt because it happened against the 'Sips or TU. Right? Nope it was a full push and unassisted, but better than some of tackling from the UT defense in that game. I'll give them that. LOL! They don't need to put wall or barriers up. Maybe some simple arrests of some of these kids/fan to be made examples of would do the trick where they have to perform community service on their Saturdays and get no entry into any sporting event for a long period of time. And a small fine. Oh but I forgot, law and order is frowned upon on college campuses today. So yea, hurd them like cats and put them in cages I guess in the right section.

My fandom has no bearing with the teams involved. I just read a few different stories about the incident.
I think the tech fan purposely hit the longhorn player and he should be charged with assault and trespassing. At minimum he's banned from all tech sporting events.
A&M also had an ugly event when they rushed the field vs LSU. An Aggie staffer punched a fan or someone. It's still unacceptable.
Also it's difficult to arrest/fine hundreds of not thousands of fans In such event. A decent lawyer will get those charges dropped.
The other point is it's becoming to common and the field storming has lost its luster.

But in so many ways lawlessness is taking charge and thinking rules are for other people and until the authorities reverse course and start making examples of some young people, the entitled will continue to think they can have their way. Just look around at all these youth that are just walking into stores and ransacking them and taking stuff. Anywhere from a Coach purse store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills to what I saw online a with group of about 100 or so kids storming a Wawa convenience store in Pennsylvania last week. I am not for locking up a young person for a long period and putting a black mark on their record forever, but dang it this way of looking the other way and pretending things aren't bad is not working. And it's all facilitated by DA's who think they need to pacify a certain segment of our society that has a loud voice otherwise known as the Twitter Mob . When in reality they are a very small segment, but it doesn't quite connect with them I bet with these field/arena rushes if even a handful got arrested and faced the maximum punishments on top of suspension from school, some students would begin to think twice. It might take a few for this to occur, but eventually it would get through to many of them.

Come on, Pico, you ain't nearly old enough to be yelling about youths these days lol All that stuff has been going on forever, its just blasted all over social media now. Crime rate has been cut in half from what it was 30 years ago. Youths in the 70's committed more crime than they do today, and youths in the 80's and 90's committed twice as much crime as they do now. It just wasn't shoved down everyones throats like it is today. Same with what happened last Saturday. That's been going on for 50 years, and much worse at times, but it wasn't retweeted a million times. It was an a-hole move, but let's not punish 30,000 because of 1 loser. I despise Texas Tech and hated seeing them storm the field. But if you don't want them to storm the field, then beat them. Otherwise, let them have their fun.

Never in my youth back in the 1980's did I see gangs of hoodlums do some in your face stuff they do today in mob like fashion like go into convivence stores or retail shops and rob and loot . And no I didn't live in Mayberry. I lived in the RGV . And what Flowtown was trying to get across is not every game deserves a court or field rush. I mean it's not like Tech hasn't beaten Texas lately. I mean the field rush is something you would expect if TM beat Calallen in the year 2030 for example. But Tech had rushed the field after beating Houston the week before. One day a player or players are going to take exception with some a-hole like that Tech punk and all heck is going to break out.

So the 2nd of this is what got me. Before I turned the TV off, walked out back, and kicked a plastic bucket across the yard, I turned to my wife and yelled a lot of derogatory comments about Tech storming the field over beating a #22 ranked team. Especially this early in the season. Blew my mind. Have a little tact.

Btw there are a lot of Tech Alums/Fans in our part of a Corpus.

Tennesse rushing the field after breaking a 15 year losing streak to Bama. I can let that slide.
But TCU rushing the field after beating OKSt, Come on frogs be better. Also, the stadium security really failed with their attempt to use a rope to contain the student section. Students just simply jumped it or ducked under.

Now TCU is. OSU was ranked 7? Now TCU should climb in the ranks. It's not like the TCU crowd did anything besides celebrating.

Now TCU is. OSU was ranked 7? Now TCU should climb in the ranks. It's not like the TCU crowd did anything besides celebrating. Far from being jealous. A&M had an unwritten rule for decades that the football field access was a privilege that only players and band members were allowed to access. Of course, some of that sentiment has gone away in the last several years in Aggieland. It just devalues the intention of a field rush when two top 15 teams are involved. Field rushing the last couple of years has become more a hey let's just go cause they can't arrest or fine 20 thousand of us. TCU and OK State have both been regulars in the top 25 for the last decade and neither has a long winning streak against the other. It was a big and exciting win for the frogs it was just not field rush worth in my opinion. Ive seen it a few times in basketball where the court was rushed and the game was not over and officials had to do a review. It really changes the dynamic of the game in those final seconds if you have to clear a basketball court of a few hundred people. Imagine trying to clear several thousand people off a football field to redo a final play especially if it's not in the home team's favor. The field rush has just become too common of an occurrence to me and really holds no significance merit any longer.

I wouldn't agree with it if the game wasn't over for sure.

On the larger picture, with the sudden trend of field/court rushes by fans...It's only a matter of time before a visiting team is not going to take kindly to it, and chaos will ensue. Especially if an opposing fan or fans get mouthy or a player/coach gets blindsided walking off the field or court, similar to the UT player in Lubbock a few weeks ago. The colleges need to get a grip on this, or there will be fences going around the field of play similar to overseas soccer stadiums. I get it happening with that once in a while, but the rush after the Tech and TCU games was not a big-time upset or signature win a program has been seeking for a while. It's not like Tech hasn't beaten UT recently, and TCU has been a good program for the last decade or so with some wins against OSU in that period.

And this happened on Saturday. Unprovoked and no excuse for it at all . But it was going to happen sooner rather than later and sure enough.
