Mine arrived northeast Ohio today. Tivy is still suffering. ~Liberty Hill will be the king in this district for as long as they remain there.

Yep. We will find out early because we start off against Denton Guyer and then play some private school who won state I think. If Aledo can stay within 14 or so of what is a loaded Guyer team..........Notice is served for the rest that they are a legit contender in 5a D1 this year. Didnt realize they were ranked #6 until I looked at the 6A board. One game does not define a season but basically this is how I see it. If we beat Guyer then winning state is a legit goal. If we stay within 14 then our games with Denton Ryan should be very good. If we lose by 21+ then we wont beat Denton Ryan. Fortunately for us the game is in Aledo. Last time Guyer played Aledo in Bearcat stadium both teams made it to state!

You will know where you stand when it's over. To take on ranked schools in higher classifications takes balls that clank.

Yup Aledo has played them before narrowly losing by like 3 points in a shootout as well as some other big schools in the past like Cedar Hill just a couple years ago, and also some powerhouses in the same classification like Lake Travis and Cedar Park.

Wonder why more of the powerhouse programs in 5A don't give this a whirl for a couple years. Specially the ones over 2000 in enrollment.

Stephenville, Highland Park, Bishop Amat, Noxubee County, and Frisco Lone Star to name some more. Even teams like Colleyville Heritage and Mansfield Legacy deserve a shoutout. All teams that go multiple rounds deep in the playoffs. I think Aledo makes it a point to have a measuring stick game each season.

Aledo absolutely does and they aren't worried about taking a Non-District loss if it will make them better for District and the playoffs. That's one reason they have all the Rings.

Unfortunately the program is way down and not sure it will be back anytime soon I remember articles in the Daily Times in previous years about how the youth football programs in the area were doing great and Tivy had no worries for the foreseeable future. Something must have happened.

I personally think we over-cooked CCVM and under-cooked Miller....the gap between those two this year isn't much either way...had a surprising comment from two CCISD HC's at the SQT last week both thought Miller was the team to beat with CCVM 2nd, but the gap between the CCVM and the field in CCISD has closed considerably

CCVM has the athletic DBs that aren't gonna just stand there and watch Miller's 2 wideouts pull in lobs over the DBs heads like most programs around here do. I think you under-cooked the 2 Victoria programs for that same reason. I get it with the 2 Victoria's because nobody ever knows which version is gonna show up. East brings back 8/6 though and that could equal to maturity that helps them be consistent.

I think both the Victoria Schools could keep it respectable. But Carroll, Ray, King and Moody should be blowout wins for Vet's.
